Sad Day. Best Friend's Son Killed in Fallujah today.

  1. My friend called my house after I left for work and told my son to have me call her, so he calls me at work to give me the message. When he told me that I knew it was going to be bad news but I called her anyway. I was right; He was killed in small arms fire in Fallujah yesterday about 1PM their time, 5AM our time. I have known this gal since 5th grade and her husband since highschool, so needless to say, we have seen our collective kids born and grown up. The last time I saw this young man he was at his sister's wedding. He looked so handsome in his marine uniform. I gave him a big hug and told him how proud I was of him, and how I would be thinking about him and praying for him. He is one of those kids that doesn't have say much, so I could tell he was kind of embarrassed. Anyway, even though you all don't know names, please keep this young man's family in your prayers. God will know who you're praying about. I know he is a good Christian young man, so he is in Heaven and that helps. Thanks.

I will keep you all in my prayers, I hate seeing people getting killed over there but we are there for democracy. We recently lost a guy from our area and it was very devistating to the community. Every time a guy from Oregon gets killed over there, the flags are flown at half-mast at all state office buildings...i think that is a great tribute. I will be thinking about you traumamama......

My sincerest condolences to you friend and her family.. and of course to you, as I'm sure you feel that he was "one of your own" as well.

    I'm so very sorry, Traumamama.

Will certainly keep them in my prayers, along with all those who lost precious lives in the most recent attack on the mess tent this week. While it's heartwrenching at ANY time, the pain is only magnified a thousand fold at this special time of year.

Pam I am so sorry. This is very sad news, especially at Christmas time. My condolences to that young man's family, and to you, as well. The pain is beyond measure, losing a son/daughter and child you watch grow before your eyes......I don't have words to convey how sorry I am.

    Oh Pam

I was so sorry to read of your friends loss, the death of a child is almost unbearable having lost my youngest and eldest daughters (both RN's) to cancer I can empathise with your and your friends feelings. I would like to tell you that its gets better, but as a nurse I have to tell you the truth, it gets bearable , just . with time. But we cant forget we owe to them to remember them no matter how much it hurts.

my love and sympathy to you both at this terrible time
