I doubt it.
Rove's specialty is getting people elected. President Bush no longer needs such services.
As such, somebody will pick up his services for the '08 election cycle.
Don't think this past election made him damaged goods. He was fighting against a 'perfect storm' of Iraq, 6 yr itch, Foley, Abramoff, etc.
None of those factors will be in play in '08. To the extent Iraq will be in play, it will be during a drawdown. I've said this before, we have 1 more year in Iraq to set things straight, after that the political reality is that we will withdraw prior to the '08 elections.
Personally, we should take out Sadr now and let the chips fly with the current Iraqi gov't where they may - and that gov't might even fall as a result. So be it. But that's not on topic to this discussion: Rove won't stay.
Rove will leave the WH very soon. That's my take. But it won't be because he was run off, it will be because there are other elections to win.
