Religions of members....

  1. I was wondering what religions people are that visit here, it seems that there are a lot of Christians here, but that may be a poor assumption on my part...

What I am wondering is are there any Buddhists, Hindus, Pagans, Wiccans, Confucians, Taoists (sp?), Muslims, Shintos, etc....

I certainly can't list all the religions....so sorry if I didnt list one...just curious

I've noticed this board to be pretty diverse.. I'm Wiccan, and I am completely out of the 'broomcloset' (in conservative areas, it can be quite detrimental to admit your faith...)

For about 10 years I was a devout Christian in the Metropolitan Community Church, which as founded by a gay Penecostal preacher who was defrocked for being gay. The last couple of years I've been realizing that there's more to it for me. I haven't been to church in a couple of years.

I'm just not sure what it is, but the hunger stays. I've read A Course In Mircales, Marrianne Williamson, started to read The Science of Mind but got boggled down. I've read a few books on Eastern religions like Yoga traditions and Bhuddism and am very attracted East.

Also I belive in the Power of Now by Eckert Tolle (sp).

I was raised a Jehovah's Witness for 16 years. I chose to leave the faith as I disagree with many teachings. After having religion forced down my throat for 16 years, I am turned off to all religion in general, and just follow my own ideas.

Wow, that's amazing - do you know what magazines he has in his bathroom...I imagine God would be an avid reader...

Raised christian, but my parents didn't force me to go to church or anything. I finally chose a Roman Catholic church just because a friend went there and I really enjoy the community there. I still enjoy reading and learning about other religions, but my heart is with Christianity.
