After September 11th, I remember hearing his rendition of America, The Beautiful over and over again on the radio and being moved to tears more than a few times. He will be missed.

I'm going to miss that soulful voice, the way he sang, the way he talked about life and people.

One of my favorite things that involved Mr. Charles was when he guest starred on the "The Nanny" as Yetta's boyfriend. Absolutely hilarious, his lines were.

Thanks for posting that link. It brought back a flood of memories...bad and good. Bad memories, obviously...and the good ones that came after with everyone pulling together and being so compassionate toward one another.
