Punishment for failing the demands of the bookclub

  1. Alright guys...Stargazer, Susy K et al should be able to punish those of us who fail to follow through on the new bookclub. What do you think is fair?

Dood, I will accept nothing less than a severe flogging.

Edited to add: I don't think they wish to punish anyone. They seem to be discouraged that they have little to no participation and question continuing the book club on this bb. Which I an understand and appreciate. Its not a matter of punishment.

Of course they don't ( I hope!) "Reprimand" sounded too harsh I thought. Anyway, I don't blame them at all for being discouraged...

If I get to hang out with Wendy- I'll volunteer for punishment. She sounds like great fun.

    WANTED: meaningful overnight relationship.
    (from wendy's profile)

    Yeah, she does!

Hanging out in the chatroom alone is proportional and also closely equivalent to our desperately trying to drum up a good book discussion, so I definitely vote for that. Now, how do we enforce it?

And a date with Wendy is a coveted prize, not a punishment. Only those of us who read should be so rewarded.

have a FEW Problems with this
first being of course, insinuating that a date with me is punishment of sorts... a date with me is NOTHING like punishment, I mean sure there *may* be handcuffs involved, and sure the phrase "you've been a very bad boy" may or may not be uttered, but its not like the chinese water torture chamber or anything , so I uhh resemble that remark or something

and the second problem is two fold, namely that I somehow missed the thread where the actual book was selected and therefore did not get it and continue to read it ... so that makes me a no good procrastinator of the worst kind!

which leads me to my second part of this problem, if punishment for neglecting my book club responsibilities is a date with hapeewendy, and well hapeewendy being me of course, does that mean I have to date myself? in the chatroom, with a wet noodle before I proceed to heathers house?
or can I just offer my sincere apologies and vow to be a better bookworm?

    WANTED: meaningful overnight relationship...

was the only reason I put that on there.....and it wasn't really punishment...I thought maybe you'd get lucky! (ummm 4 months, is it?)

    Love yer sense of humour!
