I didn't know you could eat pumpkin pie, I thought it was a joke, kinda like toad-in-the hole, where it means something else... we just throw the inside of the pumpkin in the rubbish.

Dont throw the innards away. Take the seeds and oven roast them, untill a nice golden color. Eat them like sunflower seeds... They are very tasty.

OK, here's a link to a page that has a variety of pumpkin pie recipes.

    Pies

But seriously, you all don't have a section in the grocery store with frozen pies? Sara Lee or whatever? Or they just don't have pumpkin?

It's my experience that people either love or hate pumpkin pie. I love it! Warm with whipped cream on top. After my birthday, it's my second favorite thing about fall!

hate to admit it but no- have never seen frozen pies or otherwise. we have only been able to get pumpkins at halloween for a couple of years and the kids have talked me into buying one this year. But they are only in the shops for a short time. just seems such a waste to throw away the insides......and didnt know they had seeds! so will try and roast them and see what that tastes like!

    whole new learning experiance here!

thanks for the recipes and advice!

Iceland sell frozen apple pies, as do Tesco and I think Asda sell some, I have never seen pumpkin pies though.

We have been able to buy Pumpkins for about 6 years... maybee longer. It is strange that the North of the country got them before London, It is usually the other way around!
