Cactus blooms are so pretty. Mum and Dad have a Burmese Midnight flowering Cactus. Glorious bloom like a delicate bell with teh most beautiful perfume but the darn thing ONLY opens at night and for one night. You sepnd days watching the bud thinking "tonight is the night" and the night you give up and go to bed...................

    You guessed it!!!

So true, Gwenith ! We knew these were about to "pop" so we watched them like hawks ! I got up at 0600 the next mornings to take these pics.. if I hadn't, they would have been gone !

I love cactus, they are the only things I can grow well....and that my cat won't eat.

Hey Donny - that is not as mad as it sounds I knew an ex south African - she grew up in Johanesberg very very rough neighbourhood. The way she told it the olny thing that stoped break ins was planting bouganvillia outside of all the windows. Now if you thought cacti had thorns you have never tried to trim Bouganvillia.
