President Bush speech today

  1. Did you listen to the President today?

It is not yet posted so I'll look later today.

To me I was truly hoping for a plan.
It seemed the point was that terrorists are bad. I know that.

That was only half the speech.

You forgot the 'Democracy is good' part.

Seems that this is all he can ever articulate, though. (if you want to even call it that)

Always the same two themes... every speech ..always the same. :stone

If I have to hear that speech one more time, I will gag. It's like listening to some neanderthal grunt "we good - you guys bad." If he could stop stuttering and pronouncing nuclear incorrectly, maybe I wouldn't get so :angryfire and want to move to Canada!!

    Well, for the record.

    WE ARE THE GOOD GUYS.

And I'll pick America over any country, anywhere, anytime, any day.

I'm listening now to a tape of the speech - he is just talking about the school children killed in Russia . . . . . I for one think he should keep talking and talking about the horrible things terrorists have done.

His remarks about Bin Laden telling his followers to blow themselves up while he hides out safe and sound . .. bravo.

"No act of ours invited the raid of the killers" . . . .yes.

"Never back down, never give in, never accept anything less than complete victory".

"10 serious Al Queda plots have been stopped since 9/11" . .. .

"Tyrants and would-be tryrants have always claimed that free men and women are decadent until the day that free men and women defeat them".

"The defense of freedom is worth our sacrifice".

    Great speech Mr. President.

These are the Bad guys! They want to kill us! We are hindering thier efforts. This may be repetitive but it's a good thing. What do people want details? Sorry that can't happen for the protection of our embedded soldiers and ourselves.

He just makes a lot of "duh!" comments. I know terrorists are bad and freedom is good.

The comment about Bin Laden hiding while others actually carried out the attacks was the only thing I thought was a little stupid. It isn't like Bush himself is going to fight in Iraq. Leaders don't ever do the grunt work. I was hoping to hear a little more of plans for Iraq since violence continues in the run up to the vote on the constitution.

"The government of Russia did not support Operation Iraqi Freedom, and yet militants killed more than 180 Russian schoolchildren in Beslan."

I also thought that quote was a little odd. I'm thinking "yeah, but remember Chechnya?"...

"Some observers also claim that America would be better off by cutting our losses and leaving Iraq now. It's a dangerous illusion refuted with a simple question: Would the United States and other free nations be more safe or less safe with Zarqawi and bin Laden in control of Iraq, its people and its resources?"

I thought this was one of the smartest things he said. Very persuasive.

I agree - I'm not condoning terrorism by any stretch of the imagination - I just don't appreciate the way our president is handling himself or the job we have given him to do.
