Prayers needed...

  1. Hello my friends. I just discovered much to my horror that my mom and I have no money until the third of next month.Nothing. Nada. We are also seven hundred plus dollars in the red to the bank. We haven't eaten well in 2 days. I have NO ONE to blame but myself. I have been calling places like madfor interviews for extra jobs so we can get caught up. I have 2 interviews next week and I'm teaching a BLS class on Tues. But it may be to little too late. I can't believe I let things get so out of control. We can't even buy groceries or gas for the car because we have no money to buy them with. Right now were just scrounging in our cupboards for things to eat when we get hungry. I swear, if we get out of this pickle I won't make this mistake again. I hate myself right now. I wouldn't care if it was just me, but my mom and dog are affected too. I'm sorry for unloading this on you all. It's just such a shock that this happened so suddenly. I'm really hating myself right now. Would you please pray for us?? I'm at a complete loss right now. Your extremely stupid friend, WW.

Don't panic things could always be worse. It's just a few days and think of it as cupboard cleaning. I swear I could live on what it in my cupboards for at least a month. I understand where you are coming from. I have always had budgeting problems and I have to reign myself in or I will overrun - EASILY!! Now have you checked everywhere? Under sofa cushions old sock drawers?

If things get truly desperate why don't you go the "second hand sales" market. I don't know what it is like in the US but here we have a chain called "cash converters" they are basically a pawn broker/second hand dealer group but it is handy to get rid of junk you no-longer want.

Also - go to teh bank - expalin your situation and ask for a hold on the money you owe. It is not in thier interest to have you go broke and be declared bankrupt if you have the prospects of getting yourself out of the problem.

I even tried to sell both of my saxophones at a music store with no success. The guy said they would have to be worked on more than he had time to commit to. I alos tried to get the bank to put the brakes on. They said they can't do such a thing as long as money is owed. I'm at my wit's end. I think I'm losing my mind, but anyone who has passed the time of day with me would conclude I don't have a hell of a lot of mind left to lose!:stone

I've been there too---looking in ditches for pop cans to sell got me through. Have you gone to a local church to ask for help? Sometimes they can help you through a tough spot like this, or at least make sure you have something to eat.
This too shall pass. Good Luck.
    Prayers.

    warrior woman,

can either of you donate blood? Where i am, you can donate a pint and they give you $25.00. Can I ask what happened to your money?

WW.. get to your closest pawn shop and pawn your computer if you must.. WHATEVER.. just to get you over the hump.. so you can have gas money to get to work, so you can collect a paycheck. Will your employer consider giving you and advance? There are also "emergency loan" places where you can get fast money if needed.. the interest is HIGH, but if you get just what you need to get you through 'til payday, the pay the loan off ASAP, it won't be too bad. And yes, you'd be surprised how long you can eat on what's left in those cupboards..if all else fails, there are emergency foodbanks run by various churches, etc.

You'll get through this.. because you MUST.

    Praying for guidance and direction.

The Salvation Army in my town has been known to help in the same type of situation you describe. St Vincent DePaul (through the Catholic church) also can help for immediate needs.

Around here, both groups are known for their non-judgemental attitude and sincere desire to help. That's one reason both groups are so well supported by the community.

Red Cross has also been know to help with food and utility bills in a pinch too.

Hang in there, with a little help from your friends and community. Tommorow, (next week) will come whether you worry or not, so don't waste too much precious energy worrying.

do you have a plasma donation center in your area? I donated plasma when I was college the first time around and this was how I got my food money. I made about $150 a month, but their payments have increased since then. Not as drastic as donating blood, you can donate plasma twice a week as long as you stay hydrated. If all else fails, go to a local church or food bank. They might not help your bank account, but they will make sure you have food in the cupboards.
Also, I have to say, only go to those check advance places in an extreme emergency. It can be a vicious cycle to get caught up in if you aren't careful.

I am holding a good thought for you and for family.

Have you tried this before www.nursehouse.org ? This link is supposed to be a link that helps nurses thru tight spots, might be something to look into.
