Hey guys! Haven't been around in a while - life has been rather crazy. My brother had a total hip replacement and I've been in Atlanta helping to take care of him (why put him in rehab - we have Elizabeth...gotta love it!).
Then, on March 10, my nightmare happened. Many of you will remember my post requesting advice on how to handle the situation between my Grandmother and my mom. My Grandmother was diagnosed with COPD and had just had a bout in the hospital, needed blood, etc., etc., etc. Point being, she was in pretty bad shape. I was worried b/c my mom refused to go see her. There's some strange family dynamics going on, most of which I really don't know about. I really wanted my mom to see her and make amends or at least agree to disagree, whatever, and worried that my Grandmother would die before that happened. Well, it did. She died, at home and seemingly peacefully, on March 10. We buried her on the 13th. My mom had not spoken with her in 2 years. She did kiss her and say goodbye on the 10th, but she was already dead (mom said the body was still warm - gave me the shudders.)
I'm telling all of you this to ask you to pray for my family - that some good will come out of all of this. That perhaps somehow, some way, my mom and her sisters will be able to get through this and at least be civil again. Doubt they'll ever be best friends, but would love it if they would at least call each other every once in a while, etc.
Thanks, guys. I really appreciate it!

you have my prayers and thoughts and a hug or two for good measure
I was wondering what was going on with you
sometimes my friend it never rains but it pours...
I hope that something good can come from this and believe that your mom (and her sisters hopefully) eyes will be opened to the fact that we truly do only have a limited amount of time here, so lets make the best of it
kudos to you for keeping it all together
you take care of youself!

Thanks for checking in and giving us an update. Been thinking about all the missing members lately.
Prayers go out to you and your family. Sometimes civility is the best you can ask for. Hopes for a brighter future for your family.
