Prayer Request

  1. My brother is a 2nd Lutenant (sp?) in the Air Force and he called to say that he was called at 3am to go to the house of one of his men. This young couple's 3mo old son had died. The baby had been sleeping on his back and had aspirated some "spit-up". They have asked my brother to say something at the funeral as they feel he has been such a comfort to him. He is not sure just what to say, he has a daughter only 5 days younger than the baby who had died. He has spoken to the Chaplain and has asked my parents for suggestions. Prayers are needed for these greiving parents and I would also like to ask for prayers that my brother will be able to find the words to say.

How awful for this couple, I know their pain must be overwhelming. Once in a movie I heard a line that said, "Some babies are just so special, God needs to bring them home." I don't know if that would help but no words will comfort the parents right now. We will pray for their broken hearts.

This is so awful, Kara. I will remember your brother and the baby's parents in my prayers. So sad......

I had a friend who lost her first child and it was one of the hardest things to go through. I never knew the love she had for her child until I was blessed with my own. My heart goes out to this couple.

Oh no! How terrible! My thoughts and prayers are with that family at this sad time. I'm not a mother (yet) but if something like that would ever happen to me, I'd be a basket case. It's bringing tears to my eyes just thinking about it.

OH geeze how sad. Now that is a prime example of why I don't think I would put my baby on their back. This is the second time I have heard this, this month.

I will pray for their peace of mind and spirit.

What an awful position. I send you my best, warmest thoughts, for your brother and that family who lost their baby. Tragic.

Thankyou for all your replies. My mother sent my brother some ideas and the phone number for our Pastor who just moved to another church so that he can call him for some suggestions. I don't have any children myself either, but I am heartsick for these poor people who are having to go through this. I do know that the military Chaplain is involved with the parents allready and I have faith that this will help them work through their grief.
