Pray for me please.

  1. Well, I started my junior year of nursing school this year, despite my mother's death in November 2006. I'm finally on the upswing of getting over that and now my husband has been diagnosed with Stage IIIB colon cancer. Can I fall apart yet?

    Thanks for the vent.

No. He is only 45, so he'd never had a colonoscopy. Within four days, we went from thinking he had hemorhoids...to him having a total colon resection....then on the first day of school, he was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma. Thanks for your prayers and concern.

Oh dear. I am a nurse with 11 years of experience, and I was dx'd with cancer last Christmas. I am still going through treament.

It is very difficult, but I will pray for you and your husband. Do you know yet what the prognosis is, what the treatment is that they recommend?? I know when I was dx'd, I was given so much information I couldn't comprehend anything. Although, I went through it alone, cause I am single.

Vent away here anytime. You always have friends and support here, even if you don't realize it. Remember to take care of yourself while you're pulled in so many directions, and don't give up, ever. I know that is hard to do sometimes, but your husband needs you. Is there any way you could take a leave from school?? I know it's very difficult to do in nursing school. Most are SO uncooperative with missed time, etc. Oh Kim, I am so sorry. Please feel free to PM me if you ever need an ear to listen/vent or a shoulder to cry on. I'm always around, a click away. Many prayers for hubby (and you) on the way.
