Now if there was a number to push to get someone with English as their primary language.
I hate how many of thse companies have subcontracted to overseas phone banks and I either cannot understand what they are saying or make them understand what I am trying to tell them.

    I LOVE the recording:

"Your call is IMPORTANT to us..."

But we are such CHEAPSKATES we are not going to hire enough people to answer our phones BECAUSE MONEY is more IMPORTANT than YOU!!!!!

    :angryfire

The only one that is worse is FINALLY getting someone and they have such a thick (usually Indian) accent that by the TIME you have asked them to REPEAT themselves six times you could have DRIVEN down and talked to a REAL person!

CELL phone companies are the BIGGEST culprits.:imbar

And I'm sure we've all noticed that no matter WHOM you call these days, every ONE of them just "happen" to be 'Experiencing Unusually Heavy Call Volumes'..........................

Guess that's a convenient message to slap on there while they're having coffee and donuts or catching up on gossip. :stone

I usually dial "O" nowadays to cut to the chase. I am sick of stupid phone trees and I have better things to do w/my time.

    DEFINITELY!!!!!!!!!

I got so :angryfire :angryfire :angryfire trying to talk to Linksys about my wireless router and USB adapter.

I couldn't understand a &(&*&* word the person was saying EVERY TIME I CALLED!

I finally asked, "Is there someone there that actually speaks English?" :angryfire :angryfire

It's bad enough when you have to talk to someone with an accent from a different state, let alone from a different state & country. lol (Mexican with a southern accent, French with a yankee accent....lol)

It makes it so hard to do something that should be easy.

    Another phone pet peeve:

The phone rings, and I answer it only to hear, "Please hold for a very important message." OMG! I don't care what crap you're selling, or what I won, or if I owe you money. If you want to talk to me, it better be a human. I'm not waiting on the line for that "important message."

Whew, thanks for letting me get that out of my system.

Yes Fun I find it beyond galling for telemarketers to call ME and the PUT ME ON HOLD?!?!?!?! WTH is up with that. As if I am going to sit there and wait for I call I never wanted to start with.
When I answer my phone if there is even a pause I just hang up because I know it is telemarketer. If it was a real person they will call back and respond quicker next time.

Not too long ago I answered the phone at my mom's house. No one answered, but I decided to play their little game and just sit there. I think it was at least 2 minutes later a message came on from A DOCTOR'S OFFICE!!!! It was reminding my mom about an appointment she had scheduled the next day.

    I couldn't believe it! :imbar

I have gotten those too. But those will stay on the line and record on my answer machine. Telemarketers do not.
