Phentermine and weight loss... Anybody tried it?

  1. Hello All!
I was just wondering if anyone has ever tried phentermine?
I got into a car wreck about 2 years ago and broke 3 vertebrae and since then I think I gained about 40 lbs.
I see a nurse practitioner for all my health needs and she said I should loose about 30lbs for the sake of my b/p and it would also help my chronic back pain.
Of course that was over a year ago and since she told me that I gained like 20lbs more!
She has this nutrition program and if you need help she prescribes phentermine. I worked with a lady that see's her too and she said she lost 50lbs taking it and had no bad side effects.
Well being a nurse I won't hardly take a tylenol and am very skeptical about taking anything but...
Just thought I'd ask if anyone has ever tried it or what you guys think...
    Thanks for the info!

Geez, other than my java, I hate stimulants! I can't even stand the way that Sudafed makes me feel! How about trying hypnosis for appetite control first? What kind of cardiovascular exercise routine are you able to tolerate with your back situation?

My sister was on it. She didn't lose weight and she started having palpitations. This was a while ago but I was on one called Ionamin or Fastin. I lost weight, but I also got hooked. Withdrawal is a nightmare. It's not worth it.

Baba, forget the drugs, join a gym! I know it's hard at first, getting out of bed even earlier but it's worth it in the long run, believe me. I started eating healthier, walking longer, eating more frequently but smaller, healthier snacks and the weight literally disapeared! I also threw out the scales that had dominated my life for so long and stopped thinking about what I was doing, my boys don't eat a regular meal, they have a HUGE breakfast, snack all day on fruit, sandwiches etc and then at the end of the day we all have soup and talk around the dinner table. It works just fine for us, none of us have a weight problem, we lead an active lifestyle and get all our dietry requirements from the food we eat. We also went through that "simplification" thing a while back and so we grow a lot of our own fruit and veg so I know what we're eating from the start go, you'd not believe what is in non-organic fruit and veg!! YUCK!!!!
