Pet's

  1. Hi all,

In honor of Daisy Mae and Halo (Sunnygirl), Prince (Renee) Red Lady and ZsaZsa (me), Shelby (Heather), Maxx (Julielpn), Bear Dog (Kristi), Brandon (Brownie), and all the other pet's we have had and currently have, I wanted to start a thread that asks:

"What has your pet taught or showed you that you couldn't have learned any other way?"

Red Lady taught me how unconditional a pet's love could be. ZsaZsa has taught me that dog's have the patience of a slug crossing a street.

They both taught me how to chase a ball. I mean, heck...Who's gonna get it when they flat out refuse to fetch it one last time! :chuckle

    How about yours?

Weiner was a beautiful lavender British shorthair that I inherited from my uncle's family. Very affectionate cat. Got sick with diabetes, and I eventually needed to give her insulin BID. Not easy getting a cat to pee on a dipstick, I tell you. No matter how I tried we just couldn't get her Blood glucose under control. Having her put to sleep was one of the hardest decisions of my life. I'd post her picture, but the machine is not letting me.

My cat has taught me forgiveness is divine. Hey, I will give her a bath, she hisses like no one's business...so mad she gets. but 10 minutes later, she is on my lap, purring away. She is so patient w/my kids, too. she puts up with a lot of teasing and chasing. Always willing to come when we call, purring and so lovey. A forgiving and patient soul who is almost 11 years old now. My dogs are sweeties, too. Such patience should be MY virtue.

My dog taught me how toasty he can be when he crawls under the blankets at my feet!

Apollo taught me that it does not matter that he is now 135 lbs, he can still try to sit in my lap like he did when he was a puppy. And I should scratch his tummy accordingly.

My dogs are always so thrilled to see me when I come home, sometimes they even howl like a pack of wolves. They have taught me to be glad to see whomever comes to my house no matter how grumpy I am feeling. My cats have tried to teach me to trip someone whenever I come to feed them. Maybe if I'd have followed their advice I wouldn't be so gravitationally challenged.

My dog Nicki (5 1/2 lb min.pin) has shown me that size has nothing to do with attitude as she challenges alligators, bikers and policemen in her territory and totally terrifies full size dogs.

My dog (Austin) has taught me that you cannot take a pot roast out of the oven, put it on the kitchen counter, leave the kitchen and expect it to still be there when you get back.

My cat , Isabella, has taught me not to be afraid to bite the hand that feds me. I can bite if I want and then still eat. She also taught me, to take advantage of all sunny spots and relax.

The dog taught me to keep all my dirty clothes (especially panties) in the clothes hamper with the lid on and to keep all shoes not being worn RIGHT NOW AT THIS MOMENT up in the closet.

I just loved this....it made me laugh out loud, then my dogs taught me if you laugh when you are alone you might be crazy.
