Personal things you keep at work?

  1. Who has their own mug on the ward at work? Or what other things do you keep at work or in your locker?

I have a mug with kittens on which I keep at work

I also have one of those mini Las Vegas name numberpates on my locker instead of the standard white label!

I also keep a photograph in my locker (very cliche I know!) but I find it has me smiling from time to time!

I have a wedding picture on my locker. I have a coffee mug that says "Can we just hold hands and age gracefully?".

I keep a few personal care products (deodorent, a brush) some tea bags, a tuna salad kit (for "emergency" food), mints, a lint brush, an extra pair of shoes, socks and set of scrubs. I used to keep emergency chocolate stashed but found I had too many "emergencies".

Ha ha, gotta love the old 'emergency' chocolate stash!

I used to keep an emergency 5 when I was training, usually for emergency food! You know how hard student years can be!

I find keeping a pot noodle and some packet soups in my locker has come in handy at times, as well as a box of porridge!

In my locker, toothpaste/brush, comb, hair dryer, some papers.

In the lounge (same room), I have a bag w/my diet food supplies and a "gizmo" mixer. In the "pantry" cupboard, some "good" coffee, peanut butter.

I have @ least 3 mugs back there, one says "Don't bother me, I'm crabby" that I got in Maryland.

I keep my stethescope and name stamper in the drawer in the unit where we put our purses, extra office supplies in the office supply drawer.

I basically have my stuff all over the place. But, then so does everyone else!

I have a picture of my dogs on my locker. My coworkers have pictures of their families and pets as well.

Inside you'll find a book on fluids and electrolytes, an extra stethoscope (I bought another one when I thought I lost the one I had), some green tea bags, some V-8 and maybe a some nutrition bars.

Insulated mug with lid to keep coffee hot. Locker has personal care items (toothbrush/paste, deoderant, vanilla scented hand cream) and a jar of Vicks Vaporub. I smear a little inside a mask and wear the mask when having to deal with particularly odiferous situations (GI bleeds, etc.). Pic's of pets and dh. And a calculator with formulas for calculating drips, etc.

A painted cloth bookmark made for me by a patient and a "Girl's Rule" sticker on the door of my locker. Inside, the most important is TOOTHPASTE, TOOTHBRUSH AND HEAVY DUTY MOUTHWASH. I am paranoid about my breath.

I keep my nametag and stethoscope in there along with some ibuprofen. Lots of paper towels accumulated from deliveries where I had to make a note on the handiest piece of paper. Old memos. An old string of beads that used to hold my glasses.

I chew gum most of the time (half a stick at a time), for that reason. Discreetly.
