People who don't shower BEFORE going to the gym.

  1. I'm sorry. Maybe I'm in a crabby mood because it's almost that time of the month.

Just got back from the gym a couple of hours ago, and can't get the smell of stinky sweat out of my nose!.

Can't people take a shower before w/o, so that when they sweat, they can have a "clean" sweat?. I mean, pepe le peu would smell better.

It's not the sweat you smell, it's body odor. Eventually at some point people are going to have some type of body odor. It's not a matter of if they shower before. Maybe the person you were next to has a stronger body odor than usual, had been exercising for a long period of time, was hot because of the humidity or because of the workout...
I think it's just a fact at the gym some people will have odor. I mean it normally happens and a shower before hand might mask it for a short period of time. The most important thing is if they shower when they leave or at least when they get home. Now that's not excusable!

Sorry, but as soon as I get off the aerobics machine I'm going to be sweating and smelly regardless if I take a shower or not. So I'm not going to waste my time with a shower, once after the workout is good for me. So if you see me, your warned.

Some people have a strong BO regardless. Diet plays a huge role :chuckle

I always shower before hitting the gym and after of course. I guess it is all about personal choice.

Work-out centers always smell like sweat to me. So many people working out, it is inevitable.

I have to say I'm with the guys here . .. .I don't shower before I go. In fact this morning I got my 4 year old ready for his first day at preschool and then headed over to Curves. W/O a shower.

One thing about Curves though . . . in the morning it is mostly elderly women and they don't smell.

When I was in Napa I went to a large gym, two stories, men and women. It was smelly. I figure that is just the price you pay for working out.

Unfortunately Im one of those people who dont shower before or directly after w/o :imbar I go to the gym after work, which turns into before class! Leave work 3p get to gym 315 leave gym 425p class 5p......I do shower when I get home before bed.

Oh I must add that I do wipe myself down with a damp washcloth and apply deoderant and body spray after my w/o.

I wish there was a rule that people had to brush their teeth before working out. Some people really have rank smelling breath, the combination of close quarters and the harder breathing that exercise causes makes it even worse!

i'm at 24 hour fitness (not that i've been in who knows how long.. time to joing that fitness thread!) anyway, i always go into the "womens" area where there are less people and the bikes and areobics equipment aren't so close together that everybody's sweaty arms are practically touching each other. (EWW) anyway, i must confess that I am one who doesn't shower if i am going to the gym in the morning. I do where clean workout clothes and that is probably half of the battle right there. Try to work out next to where a fan is blowing but you aren't down wind of anyone.

I knew a guy in the army and Is wear if you told him this, he'd respond somehthing along the lines of "Real men smell... and real women like it" :chuckle
