What is so "ridiculously untrue" about my statement?
    Everything.
Everyone on this board knows you are following some sort of right-winged anti-gay, radiacal religious mantra that has caused many people hurt. You are spreading these anti-gay feelings at the expense of others. The statements you make are distasteful, hurtful, shameful and downright hateful at times.

If that is the type of "religion" you cling to...... your welcome to it buddy.

Oh good lord, this thread needs closure. I can't believe the gibberish trash spewing out now from this one member. I can't believe anyone is even trying to address it. It's obvious ranting from someone looking for attention, no more. No one is gonna "educate" or change this person's mind. Maybe if we ignore, he will go away.

Your cut and paste job is second rate.
Cut and paste? I try to use my own words to express my views. I try to read up on these issues before I answer (otherwise it might come out sounding that I don't know what the heck I'm talking about). But whatever. No answer I give on here about my objections to same-sex marriage will ever satisfy you or anyone else that has been posting on this thread. You have all decided beforehand that people trying to protect the sanctity of traditional marriage and family units are a bunch of homophobic, fundamentalist, right wing christians out to rule the country with the authority of bible and God. Personally, I would just be happy if the definition of marriage would just be left as it is. Don't fix it if it aint broke. But gay activitists and there would be followers want there "Utopia". "Utopia" it won't be. This nation will crumble under the weight of its defiance of moral principles and statutes. I have made my stand here. I don't want any part to do with a "free for all society" and all your notions of moral relativism. So put that in your pipe and smoke it. Good day.

Yes, homophobic, fundamentaltist, right winged ...... but you left out bigoted. Otherwise, your description is accurate.

No...... I would not reject the child.......On the contrary, I desire the very best for homosexuals. And desiring the best for someone, and acting to bring that about, is the essence of love.
JASON- since you would not reject your homosexual child, citing what the essence of love is and therefore dictates, it would then be reasonable to conclude that your acceptance of it (since you're not rejecting it) would mirror the beliefs that have been expressed here on this board. and i would appreciate a response in your words and not some pretexted mumbo jumbo.

None of us decided beforehand you were any sort of way. We made that decision after reading your many posts. Your description above is fairly adequate, but you forgot closed minded.

Personally, I'm mature and realistic to know there is no such thing as utopia. I don't remember hearing of creating a utopia being on anyone's agenda. However, a nation of equality and fairness would be nice.

I don't have time to go into right now as I'm on a break at work. If the mods don't close this thread I might be able to say more later. Let me just say that homosexuals have been in existance thousands of years, in every country from every kind of background and race. From healthy relationships with parents, to orphans, to people raised in single-mom homes. Your so-called theories as to the origins of homosexuality doesn't make any sense given the reality of the backgrounds of homosexuals throught the world and through time.

I think what he's talking about is "Love the Sinner and hate the sin" kind of love. Unfortunately a lot of christian parents don't put that into action and totally reject their child and shunning and disowning them.

I second this request for closure. We're going nowhere.

Chris, as much as I feel we are going nowhere, to be fair a popular vote to shut down isn't fair. The mods are the ones who can shut down a thread due to violations of the TOS, or whatever reason they seem fit. Taking a vote is wrong. Ignoring the thread is always an option. As much as I think it's nonsense, several people have questions to Jason, he has answered with his honest beliefs. It will die a natural death I'm sure. I'll have to read the TOS to see if bigoted homophobia is in there.

After some discussion with the other mods, I'd like to invite folks to pm me as regards reasons why the thread should remain open or closed (based on TOS, not agreement or disagreement with opinions or whether it's a worthwhile topic to keep discussing after 39 pages.)

I figure as long as people keep posting to it, it is a topic of interest. What I am unsure about is whether we can do so without personal attacks on such a hot-button issue.
