Parents leave kids alone; party in Vegas

These two are real pieces of work. It would be unconscienable to leave a 9 year old responsible to look after a typical 5 year old. Expecting him to care for himself and a child with autism (but not, interestingly enough, for their 2 precious puppies)? Three words. What the hell? I hope they both get the full 7 years!

I hope they get the full penalty, too! But I wouldn't be surprised if they got no jail time AND the kids back. :angryfire

Some people just don't realize how fragile and precious their childrens' lives are.

even sadder, i'm no longer surprised at this bs.
through all of my dd's psyche hospitalizations, reading discharge summaries, talking w/dd's friends, i've learned that there have been 3 different parents who supplied my dd et al, w/hard liquor, cocaine and weed.
i've confronted all 3 parents; no one denied a thing. i nearly assaulted one of them for acting like it was no big deal.

surely child services will be involved and someday, i'm sure this family will be reunited.

I don't think they should publish the kids picture like that. Sad.

I'ts sad that just anybody with a reproductive system can become a parent. I heard that they "tried but just couldn't find anyone to watch the kids". Uh...like that makes it OK to leave them alone then....since you did TRY. Give me a break. I hope they never see their kids again!

Funny how they found someone to take care of the puppies but not the kids. OH PLEASE. Absolutely no sympathy for these "parents," I hope they get what they deserve.

That is soooo sad. Poor children, wonderful grandmother, I hope she wants to raise them and gets to, hope the parents stay in jail for a good long time but unfortunately they'll probably be back with their kids in no time and a slap on their wrists instead of handcuffs. OOhhh burns my a**!

Makes me :angryfire but more . It just boggles my mind.

I just don't understand how ppl can care so little for such a precious gift.

"I thought they loved them [puppies] more than us," Joshua told The Associated Press.

I hadn't thought of that, but you're right. I don't think they should either. I wondered who signed the release. Typically, the parent has to, but under the circumstances, that seems unlikely.

Read this yesterday, was at a loss for words....read it again today, still don't understand it. At the risk of sounding rude, what happened to the brain development of these two?

Well, good, I hope they did. Then they can't claim diminished capacity at trial. They knew someone should stay with the children, but apparently just didn't care. :angryfire
