I met some of the sweetest peole I've ever known..they were from Kansas. They raved about what a wonderful state Kansas is, and how wonderful of a place it is to raise a family in. Just curious on why and where to you want to go. The midwest would look good to me now with the east coast having anxiety attacks and the west coast finding out N. Korea can reach them with a bomb.

Perhaps it is because Kansas is flatter than a poor boys tortilla?

They told me that Lincoln, Nebraska has been listed as the # 1 best place to raise a family for something like 15 consecutive years, based on personal safety, low crime rates, educational opportunities, stuff like that, and that most of the cities in Kansas were ranked high also in that regard. Personally, I've never been to Lincoln or to Kansas...maybe I did drive thru the cornfields and prairie grass once...a long time ago. They did like the chiefs.

I grew up in Washington. I dont care for the kansas climate TOO hot Too cold Too windy. Never enough rain until a flood.also my family is in Washington. plus I love hiking, camping, skiing, fishing ...
Kansas is a nice place , but w/o boeing the economy is really hurting. and Hutchinson doesnt pay Nurses wellthe top of the pay scale at the Hospital is $21.00/hr. my sister is a dental hygeinist, and she makes almost 2X what a RN makes in Hutchinson..... :imbar
sorry... I am a Washington Girl

Well I sure hope you get to come home!

(Born in Bremerton, raised in Poulsbo...ended up back here, living in Vancouver after bouncing around the East Coast and OK for a few years).

And we are planning to relocate to Wichita in 4-5 years if everything falls into place.

The WHOLE state of Kansas is NOT flat. I'm in the
southeast part of the state and the flint hills, which are quite beautiful. It is true about the pay, not as good as I wish but is a great place to
live and raise a family. Good luck with the job
hunt macox, can't imagine that it will be too terrible hard to find gainful employment!!

Being born and raised in the mountains myself, I certainly understand how it would feel not to have hiking, camping, winter sports, fishing , "right out the front door." I hope you get to go home too. Good luck.
