Oh, to be Six Again!!

  1. a man was sitting on the edge of the bed, observing his wife turning back and forth, looking at herself in the mirror.:kiss

since her birthday was not far off he asked what she'd like to have for her birthday. "i'd like to be six again" she replied looking in the mirror.

on the morning of her birthday, he rose early, made her a nice big bowl of lucky charms, and then took her to six flags theme park.

    what a day! he put her on every ride in the park;

    the death slide,

    the wall of fear,

the screaming monster roller coaster,:hatparty: ...... everything there was.

five hours later they staggered out of the theme park. her head was reeling and her stomach felt upside down.

he then took her to a mcdonald's where he ordered her a happy meal with extra fries and a chocolate shake.

then it was off to a movie, popcorn and a soda pop, and her favorite candy,m&m's. what a fabulous adventure! finally she wobbled home with her husband and collapsed into bed exhausted.:smackingf

he leaned over to his wife with a big smile :d and lovingly asked, "well dear, what was it like being six again?"

her eyes s-l-o-w-l-y opened and her expression suddenly changed.

"i meant my dress size, silly!!":stone

the moral of the story: even when a man is listening, he is going to get it wrong!

I would love to (when the weather is better.....) just go on a picnic in the park and swing on the swings. Let dh push my swing and then have sandwiches on a blanket. Look at the clouds and see what we can make out of 'em.

Or, go fishing by a pond. Use cane poles. Have a picnic in a john boat.

Have a moonlit picnic. Lie on our backs and look at the stars. Try to catch a shooting star and wish on it.

OMG.. stop, stop !!! Oh my, I could swing for HOURS on end.. still do when I get the chance. The kids at the playground/park hate to see me coming.

"Hurry ! Get the swings before that lady comes! She'll NEVER get off!"

And yes, all those others you described above.. how marvelous. The simple pleasures that let the spirit soar. *sigh*

I do believe you are my long lost twin, jnette. That is most favorite thing to do, especially when I was a kid. My mom would know exactly to find me when she called. My kiddos where swing fanatics, too. But, no one could stay on them as long as I.

    AHHHH! Brings back memories.

    Wanna play??
