Oh, the joy of life !

  1. Wow.. what a GREAT day I had today ! Finally, after weeks and weeks of grey, foggy, drizzly weather, it was warm, bright, and SUNNY !
So I jumped in my car and took off to see my daughter and hour or so away.. we had been wanting to go the the park on the river and fly kites, take the dog and the frisbee, and just make a day of it.. but the weather had refused to cooperate.. 'til TODAY !

So there I was, cruisin' up the road, Janis Joplin and Led Zeppelin blasting away.. all around me eyecandy... the mountains and foothills were bursting with life ! The colors were sooooo vivid, the rolling meadows filled with spring blooms and speckled with cows lazily grazing the lush new grasses.. bluebirds chasing each other only to lite on a budding branch to peck and kiss ... dogwoods dressed in pink and white and the hills emerald green against the clear, blue sky... it was just so good to take it all in ! The beauty of it all assaulted my senses, filling them to overflowing...everything inside me rejoiced in simply being ALIVE !!! Anybody else ever just been soooooo glad to just be alive?

Anyway, we flew our kites, chased the frisbees, rolled with the dog and threw sticks in the river for her to swim after... and had one fabulous afternoon.

Such simple pleasures. Life is good.
    Thanx for letting me share.

Today was just GORGEOUS in NW Ohio, So I took mom out in the Vette' and went driving all day, talked to my best friend(yeah, yeah, you all know who THAT is ) and was just content in the knowledge that my mom will finally be home with me next week, and I am alive, and well loved. And it is enough Lord. More than enough. Love and peace to you all. Warrior Woman.:kiss

Yes I have had moments like that too Jnette- when it is enough just to be alive and soak in the world around you and you can't keep the smile off your face or from saying inside you "thank you Lord that I am alive and I am here right now." thanks for sharing!!

jnette- Thanks for sharing the breathtaking description of your day. I could feel the warmth of the sun on my face, and the memory of my daughter as a small child-just so happy to be with mommy. You made my day.

whew ! OK ! I was beginning to get concerned.. either everyone was dead, or maybe I was crazy...

and then I started to feel bad, 'cuz I thought that perhaps while I was out having a glorious day, everyone else might have been... well...working ...?

Thanks jnette, I've been greatful all day long, that I have had a day to be lazy---revive after my 3 days of work, and get lots of lovin from my family. Too lazy to even type much.

jnette, I worked all day, but I had a similar joyous day recently, myself. It was a beautiful, sunny day. Just rained the day before. Temp. was just perfect. Humidity was down, and I took off to walk the dog. As I walked along, I just took it all in; reveling in nature, much as you described. I found myself smiling to myself, and felt like I was beaming. Nature is one of Gods greatest gifts!
    Thanks for sharing.

awwww.. I do hate that for ya ! And where was your RAINSUIT?

I lived in England for 4 years..was pretty young, but do still remember all the rain, rain, rain ! I would think that a rainsuit would be with me, strapped to the bike !

Glad it didn't dampen your spirit, though !

I too had to work today, but it was a good day nonetheless.

I nearly fell over when the Nursing Office sent me to a floor that I abosolutely LOATH (don't use that word often). But to my great surprise the census was low AND I made the sixth nurse! I only had six patients, one of which was discharged early in the shift. Had no new admissions to my assignment.

In each room the sun came through with great radiance, while the windows let in a soft breeze in the patients' rooms. The bay just a few miles away shone so beautifully. Even though I had to be inside, all I had was a song in my heart for the beautiful day!
