Oh Swell, Now the Cowboy Wants to....

  1. ....send troops to Liberia. What's up with this man? Does he think he's Wyatt Earp and the world is the OK Corral??? What's next, peacekeeper in Inner Outer Mongolia?

Been watching this one with "interest" for the past 2 days, Gomer. Ms. Rice is giving her spin on it right now on TV...

I don't know if Pres Bush has decided yet to send troops or not, the Rebels have asked for the US to be a peacekeeper. From what I've read, Pres Bush will decide by next Thursday...

I'm wondering what fiasco we would be blamed for "allowing" to happen in Liberia if we didn't go in....

My thoughts exactly. Liberals are determined to take shots at him no matter what he does, so I'm glad he doesn't bother trying to please them.

"Liberals" ..? Not so, my friend. Let's not generalize everyone who's not exactly pro-Bush. I like to think I still have my OWN thoughts and views on things, not ones boxed and wrapped with a "label". Nope, not a liberal, here. Just me.

"Methinks thou dost protest too much." I know you have your own thoughts...they're just liberal. Nothing wrong with that, but you should admit to choosing a side.

On SOME things, PERHAPS... on others , definately NOT. So where does that place me in the labeling? With me, it depends on the issues at hand. Not the party.

What would Doc Holiday think of this?

"Wyatt, what the he-- are you doing" or
    "I'm with you my friend".

    or maybe "Let's Roll".

OMG...when Bush decided to invade Iraq weren't many anti-war people crying..."What about Africa?" I vividly remember criticism that the US didn't care about the atrocities in Africa.

I understood that we were ASKED to help provide a peacekeeping force....?

Come on guys.....don't put me in a position of DEFENDING Bush again....ug!

You're absolutely right, Furball. Intervention IS needed there. I've not said anything to the contrary. And I hope it will be nothing more (or less) than a peacekeeping force. I also hope other nations will do their part and see the need.

I AM watching with interest ! This is no party issue with me. I just don't TRUST Mr. Bush, that's all. Wouldn't matter to me WHICH party he belonged to. I don't trust his motives. That's why I put the quotation marks around watching with "interest"...plus all the other stuff going on in the world right now.. whew!

Guess I just don't like being put in a box simply because I don't care for or trust a certain individual. I decide on the merits of the argument and not the party. A lot of weighing going on in this kid. There's good and bad to be found in each, Whichever tips the scale on the issues most important to me (and what I consider would be in the inerest of the good of all) ends up getting my vote... because it's MY vote ! Let's not get grumpy here and start attacking each other ! Geesh, there's enuff war around for everybody, let's not start another with each other !

The older I get, the more conservative I become.
But I could live to be 103 and still not like George Dubya.
I am liberal in some ways but try to keep my views open for whats best for the WHOLE country.
This in NOT a game of Risk we are playing here where we can roll the dice and take over the world by flexing our millitary muscle.
I also agree that labeling someone liberal or conservative is not always appropriate.
We all have individual views and one persons idea of what is liberal or conservative may no longer match anothers.
For example. I think if someone is sentenced they should serve their sentence to be punished. Not to live a better life than those who have to work and support them.
I don't think welfare works anymore.
I think if you are against abortion then you shouldn't have one.
I think that tax cuts are often ploys to get re-elected.
I think we should worry about increasing the oppourtinity to educate our children here at home before sending millions (billions?) to other nations.
I think that politics and big business should stop sleeping together.
I think nobody should spend more on a campaign than he would earn during one year in office.
I think this country should live within it's means!!

I think furball hit it best. We were ASKED for help. I get real tired of people who pretend to not know the difference between meddling/interfering with another country and helping it (and that's both liberals and conservatives). It's interference when your mother comes into the kitchen and tells you you're cooking somthing completely wrong. It's helping when you ask her for a little guidance.
