Off to Work

  1. Well, I am off to work. The first night of my six 12's in a row. Don't want to but have to feed the kittens.

So, everyone play nice, and I will be back in a week or so.

Whoa, Bob! 6-12's in a row! Yikes! How many do you get off, before you have to go back again?

Sure hope that your kitties appreciate you! LOL!

I got offered the chance to stay home tonight due to low patient census. Being the kind-hearted, altruistic person that I am, I said sure, I'd stay home tonight rather than mandatory cancel someone else. Just because I'm so kind. Has absolutely NOTHING to do with the fact that I absolutely HATE nights. Hate 'em, hate 'em.... Or the fact that I signed up to be cancelled if they needed to keep someone at home. Nope, nothing to do with it at all...

Bob: Six 12-hour nights?!! are you NUTS?! I'm rejoicing over being cancelled for ONE 12-hour night!!!

You go, Zee! When I did agency nursing and worked nights, I did exactly what you are doing! Cancel me, go right ahead! LOL!

Blessings to you Bob. I get depressed just thinking about working six 12's in a row. Maybe the kittens could get a part-time job????

Bob! How do you sleep! I thought 7 8's in a row is brutal.

I actually sleep fairly good, perhaps it was my time in the Navy that prepared me for this type of schedule. When on a boat it is 12 on/12 off for as long as you are at sea...could be up to 30-45 days. Even longer now. When I started flying in the Navy it was even more hectic.

I do get my reward though. I get off on Wed morning and don't go back to work until the followig Fri. night. That many days off together make it worthwhile for me.
But I have been told I get grumpy on the last 2 nights!!
