Nursing ?

  1. Just some advice again.

I am still in my pre-req for nursing. I just found out this morning in our local news that the school that I am hoping to get for the nursing program is cutting its enrollment by 25%. That is 87 to 60 applicants. My question is this.....should I continue with my plan as I am doing or should I change my major into something else? My heart and soul is to be RN. My advisor states that this school goes by the points system and with me already have an Associate Degree in Medical Assisting, that might give me a few extra points. I would appreciate any advice that you guys can give me. I say to keep going and see what I come up with. My head states to find something else. But where I work, there is alot of job openings for RN.
    Thanks :kiss

I say follow your heart, your not going to be happy unless you do.

If this school doesn't work out and you really want to become an RN.. find a different school. Where this is a will, there is a way. best of luck

If your school goes by a "points system", find out exactly how those points are earned...our school had it all laid out...in writing. I also asked the avarage number of points that those that got in last year had. That gives you an idea if you have a chance of getting in. Do they count points from the NET test? Do you get points for classes already completed? I would hope the school has that information in writing. Ask if there is a nursing handbook or handout with all the info, talk to the director....don't go by what you have heard others say....seek out the facts. If this is what your heart wants, don't give up!

My advisor told me that you get so many points for completing all of your classes, your gpa, interview, and any degrees previously earned.
I appreciate all of your alls opinion and I am going to follow my heart and try to become a RN. If this is what God has in mind for me, then I will achieve it. If not, he will lead me in the right direction.
    Thanks guys
