News Websites

  1. Other than CNN, are there any other websites that anyone can recommend to get news information? I'm specifically interested in one's that give balanced points of view and factual journalism (does that still exist? :chuckle). Thanks!

Las Vegas, try www.bbc.co.uk for the British take on things. It's the national public service broadcaster. All the political parties accuse it of bias, but usually when they are NOT in government! :roll

I use www.refdesk.com for many things, including newspapers from around the world.
You should see the Pravda take on things!!

But, the site has a mutlitude of places to linked to, not just news sources, and many, many foreign and US papers.

National Public Radio. Different areas of the country have different stations. If you go online and just put in NPR you'll find it. I listen on my way to work and on my way home, they are balanced and have different information that you won't find elsewhere.

Ahhh, great minds think alike. I listen to NPR on my way home each day, rncountry! I agree, I feel they are balanced and report much more information you don't hear any where else.

This one does have some eye opening articles. It's where I go if I want to find out what just may be closer to the truth.

    Hello LasVegasRN,
Apart form the BBC news which Don already recommended, try http://www.reuters.com they are a world renown news organisation and are allegedly unbiased. It is good to here of people trying to find out all angles on the news, as most of the media we see in most counrties around the world is carefully managed, depending on the audience and the producer. It is an amazing fact that almost all commercial news seen in the developed countries is controlled by a hand full of individuals, one of the most notorious being Rupert Murdoch..... if you think Bill Gates wields some power.... try taking on someone who can bombard you with their own personal agenda from the TV, radio, film, PC, & newspaper..... anywhere in the world 24/7.
