New boss

  1. Well, I found out that the new place is laying off a bunch of people, none nurses YET! So I have decided to stay put because I do work for a financially solvent health system. So I went into work Friday night and found out we are getting a new manager whom I have known and truly respected for about 13 years now. She is just what my unit needs and she is starting this week. She wanted to know what the problem areas were and what specific issues each shift has. I told her I'd be more than happy to meet with her and discuss my concerns and solutions I have been trying to put thru for about 5 years now. SO it really isn't bad news. I am really looking forward to working with my new manager and hopefully watching this unit turn around for the better.
