Needing party ideas

  1. Okay, I've been drafted into planning a girls night out for the highschoolers in our church. We are thinking about a progressive dinner with pedicures and stuff like that, but the girls aren't really girly girls, they'd rather launch pickles and spit crickets with the boys. So, do any of you wonderfully creative people out there have any ideas that won't make us look so lame? If we do the progressive dinner idea, we could play pool at one house, do pedicures at another...then what? Please share any ideas.

I've got a test tomorrow and my poor pea brain is fried...help!

    Hi pkmom

How about letting the girls plan the events for that special night? It's only fair to allow them to have as much input in it as possible since the night is for them, right? Of course, you may have to veto certain things, but at least allow them to have some things that they enjoy and suggest....they are more likely to attend if you do. Nighty night, and hope this helps ya some! :kiss

Good idea set up a suggestion box and let them put their ideas in it!

If they are not 'girly'girls...then what about paintballing? Do you have that over there...it's lots of fun.

Or laser tag. WalMart has inexpensive sets. Gotta do it @ nite tho so you can see the lights when scoring a hit.

    Good luck!

Launch pickles?? Spit crickets?? What is that? How about shooting hoops. My daughter is not a girly girl either. Anything that is competitive usually suits her.

Hmmmmmmmm, my youngest isn't a girly girl either....how about .....water balloon fights? Shaving cream wars? something messy!!!!!! Messy and fun.......or building ice creams sundae's........a hugh ice cream sundae in a hugh bowl? If your looking for inexpensive ideas.....

Lots of good ideas so far...laser tag is fun, for everybody

Maybe making their own homemade pizzas with all the toppings on cookie sheets would be fun.

Scavenger hunts are fun too...could tie that to the "progressive" idea...trying to figure out where their final location will be...well, I think that would be fun anyway :chuckle

    Good Luck!

How about some one to give them a quick self defense/awareness course. They might like getting to learn a few basic moves and they would learn some valuable skills.

My daughter went to a party where the girls would get a "clue" or puzzle to solve to know where to go next (kind of like a progressive dinner/scavenger hunt combined). They went to different people's houses and did something goofy at each house (sometimes "service" things and sometimes "fun" things) and the adult who rode along videotaped the highlights. Not only did they have fun, but they enjoyed the videotape too.

I guess my "Come as your favorite dead celebrity" party idea would not be appreciated.

They do have those kits for spa parties. Facials, manicures, pedicures, etc.
