This is my first time writing in this forum, so I hope it works! I am a recent graduate from an ADN program. I recieved my liscence in January and then moved to seoul, south korea to be with my husband who is active duty us airforce. We will be here for the next 18 months and i am soooo discouraged. I have applied the the american hospital on the base for a nursing position, and have been told that there is almost no hope of getting a job in nursing here. since then i have started volunteering at the hospital. (i figure volunteer exp is better than no experience). I also read as much as i can and try to stay up with thing. i am so afraid i will forget everything that i learned in school, then where will i be when i get back to the states?
I would welcome any advice on what to do while i am marking time here.
I have so enjoyed reading throughout these forums and hope to here from someone soon.

Kim, Why is there little chance of your getting a job? It seems like everyplace else they are begging for nurses. In the meantime I think you have the right idea by volunteering and staying in a hospital environment. Good luck!
