National warning for trouble

  1. Well, I heard about the threat of possible trouble from the East.
Does this concern anyone. I have to admitt, I have thought about not going anywhere in large public places that might be a target.

    What are your thoughts.
    Happy 4th everyone!!!!

My feeling on this is mine and mine alone. If others feel the same way, then good on them.

I WILL NOT allow myself to become afraid of shadows, loud noises, or ambigious threats. I will continue to take pleasure in the activities I did before 9/11 and in spite of the whispered, and nonwhispered threats.

If I cower in my house, and no longer am able to enjoy myself in large, or small gatherings, then the bad guys have won. They have won because they have broken my spirit, made me afraid of the dark, and of the unknown.

AND I REFUSE TO LET ANYONE OR ANYTHING DO THAT TO ME!!!

Here is a smiley for all the people who would want to do that to the people in the world who enjoy freedom and the ability to think for themselves.........

I was reading the morning paper about an hour ago and there was an article about this very topic. I had to go get the paper and I'll give you all a short rundown.

""Feds Issue a "Secret" Terror Alert""

Federal authorities have issued a secret alert to state and local law enforcement agencies warning them of the possibility of a terror attack in the U.S. around the July 4 holiday. The message from the FBI wasn't made public because intelligence analysts concluded the threats are too vague.

They said they fear the frquent alerts might be causing "threat fatigue" among Americans, who have been bombarded with so manys warnings that they no longer arouse much concern.

""Threat Fatigue"" ...now, isn't that a hoot??? that's a new phrase...

Here's the "" possible "" list of terror alerts: (Places the terrorists might HIT !!) places to avoid.....WARNING :

    airplanes
    trains
    buses
large gasoline tankers..don't park next to one...
shopping malls ........(I'm not making this up) ....
    the Brooklyn Bridge
    the Statue of Liberty
ships, the FBI says the terrorists may send scuba divers to blow them up

    amusement parks
    sports arenas

    banks in the Northeast...yes, banks

that's it ! No hospitals on the list..guess we could all work..

I wonder what all the FBI people are doing on their week long holiday/vacation....

Well, Happy 4th Everybody....I'm going to the beach....a very crowded one.......

Maybe the terrorists will assume all the places on ""the list"" are heavily guarded...and will choose something not on the list..........THE BEACH !!!! Oh NO !!!!

I'm with you Bob. Each time they announce a warning that's when I decide I'm going out to the biggest damn mall or fireworks display in my area.

THE HOSPITALS...OH NO!!! The places NOT on the list should be the ones heavily guarded...YOU KNOW...SNEAK ATTACKS...BEWARE OF UNGUARDED TERRITORY...

My take on these terrorists attacks and where the spooks might jump at us next? THEY don't run this Earth! THEY are only as strong as their strongest weapon. Get to their weapons, and you get to the end of this crap! Guess who armed them with those damn weapons??? Wouldn't have been US now would it? AMERICA wouldn't have participated in something THAT stupid!

We're going to an amusement park tonight, and a huge fireworks display on Thur. and Fri. So.....

I'm with Bob. The day that I cower in fear is the day that I stop living my life. I will not let fear dictate what I do or where I go. As said before, if it is my time then it is my time.

    Happy Fourth everyone!!!!!!

Not participating this year. Not because of the supposed terrorist threat, but because our trauma center has shut down as of today. The doctors have quit doing trauma as they can no longer afford malpractice insurance to do trauma. So, being that this is the most "traumatic" holiday of the year, I'm going to stay home. Hopefully, this malpractice issue will be resolved before the next major holiday.

    Is this true??!!??

You'r trauma center is actually shut down???

I must be honest . . . I'm flabbergasted! This is really tragic for the people your hospital serves. Please understand that I am not pointing fingers at anyone regarding this issue. Just flabbergasted.

I would be interested to read and learn more about this issue.

    Conerned!
