National Prayer days

  1. President has declared September 6th-9th national prayer days. I think it should be up until the 11th. But ohhh well...

He also asked to burn a candle on those days too. I will have candles in my windows ( one regular fire one, the rest the lightbulb ones). I will drive with my lights on all day. I am going to try to do something within my school (if my principle ever gets back to me).

I think the national prayer days are a good idea, but I also think prayers should be said everyday.

You took the words right out of my thoughts. We, as God loving people should not have to be called on to pray, it should be a part of our every day and our every thought. I remember as a very little girl, when I lived with my gramma, God bless her soul, she is deceased now, but she would go into the bathroom every night to pray. Her prayers would start out between her and God and in the end the neighbors four miles away could hear her yelling at God like he couldn't hear her or something. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not making fun of her, although I admit I had the urge many times to ask her if she thought God was hard of hearing. My point being, we don't have to scream loud, make a lot of noise, God can read our thoughts every day. I pray many times during the day. As I'm walking down the hall's at work and someone comes into my mind, I say a silent prayer for them. I also pray in the silence of my ride to work. My Father hears my every thought. To me, prayer is a very personal thing and the choices we make in how we do it is our own business. I will burn my candles, fly my flags which have not come down since this war started and I will pray for all countries involved. In all countries there are innocent people involved that are not consulted during the decision making plans. My only pray is that any deaths that occur in all of this will result in the souls going to Heaven in a land where we can rejoice in the presence of our maker and never know fear or sorrow again. We do not know what tomorrow might bring, so as we go about our daily routine, let's keep a prayer in our heart and remember loving one another is the greatest of all commandments. I love you guys!!!!!!! (DUCKIE OFF SOAPBOX NOW)

I have all the utmost respect for those of you who know your god and feel empowered because of it. But I just don't get it. I actively looked for this god in which you so confidently speak and never felt a thing, never heard a "boo"!
Now, don't get me wrong I don't want tips, or methods in which to find god.
I'm glad you have your god but keep in mind that for many of us who read this, we don't get it, and never will.
Not all of us believe, nor ever will.
Once again, this is said with respect to all.
    Love and Peace,
    -Russell

Point well-taken Rusty. IT is up to each of us to get in touch w/our spiritual side in the way that suits us the most. Spirituality encompasses many paths, many different ways of looking at things. I wish all peace, whatever their belief systems may be.

Rusty- okay. I understand. You can just send good vibes if you want. It's an appropriate equivalent IMO. Love and peace to you, also.
