My wife has decided to study nursing!

  1. News to me too! She's been thinking about this for some time, though. I'm happy for her, and support her decision, of course.

It just seems a bit strange, though! I know that I sure wouldn't want to be doing all of those APA-formatted papers and studying and traveling to clinicals (to far out and strange places) and test taking and more APA-formatted paper writing and still more paper writing . . . again and again!!!

She knows what she's getting herself into, though. I think she'd make a great nurse. She compassionate, very smart, articulate, an advocate for patients and assertive!! She's been in the healthcare industry for many years which should be to her advantage. I know the many reasons for her decision to become a nurse. All sound reasons. I also know that she will be very picky in the type of nursing she'll be doing, as well as be picky where she works! That's a good thing, in my opinion, to help prevent burn-out.

Well, it looks like it's going to be a two-nurse family in a couple of years! Cool!

Another person is joining our ranks, folks!

Cheers to us all! And to my loving wife who's making a career change to a noble, sometimes chaotic, sometimes even a bit neurotic, but almost always interesting profession!

Congrats to your wife for her decision! My hubby was a nurse before I was (of course, I DID have to get out of high school first!!) and although he is now in medical sales, we have so much in common, and so much to talk about. Since we have to spend so much time trying to make a living, I think it's so much more fun if we understand where the other person is coming from. But you have probably already experienced this, since you said your wife has worked in the medical field. Best wishes to both of you!!

    Thanks!

Glad to know we won't be the only "two-nurse" family!

    Cheers, ChristianRN!

Good for her, Ted. She's lucky to have such a supportive person who also happens to be a nurse and can help her with her studies.

Has she started back to school yet?
