My poor Bunny is hurt :(

  1. We took in a stray that is sweet as can be but still has claws. I know she was just playing with the Bunny and not trying to hurt him but she scratched his eye. My husband is taking him into the vet today. I am so worried because pain alone can kill a Bunny

I hope the bunny is ok. I didn't know pain could stress them to the point of dying. But since you've got him to the vet so quickly, I'm sure it will be fine.

Poor thing. Hubby took him in and we have to put a cream ON his eye ball (don't know how I am going to manage that one...LOL) and he has to take oral anti-biotics. The doctor said he may never see the same out of that eye again because of scar tissue . Hubby said he didn't give him anything for pain and that is what I am worried most about since he can die just from the pain. I had a scratch on my cornea and it seriously was worse than childbirth (and I didn't have an epidural).

OUCH.. corneal scratches ARE painful !!!

Wonder if you could raise the eyelid, and place the ointment on IT .. underneath the lid... then when he blinks (do bunnies blink?) the ointment would transfer to the eyeball itself.

Wonder why he didn't get any pain med? I'd call him and ask him if HE's ever had a corneal scratch...........

Or if there's anything OTC you can crush and give in his food to relieve pain.

Thanx for the update, and hope Mr. Bunny heals up real soon. :kiss

I am sorry to read this. Sadly, bunnies and kitties just do not mix. Kitties just can't resist.

Hope the lil guy gets better.

Thanks for all the well wishes for my bunny. Getting the cream on his eye was hard but he seemed to actually like the medicine filled syringe. Poor guy. He is so little and now his eye is all cloudy. When we got him the lady at the pet store said bunnies really don't cuddle but my guy does. I just want to hold him until he feels better
