My first Presidential Meeting, I'm scared, wish me luck!

  1. Okay I've been invited to my first meeting... It's with the familiy council... I was just elected as Resident Council President and the family members who visit here have their own seperate meeting called the Family council meeting and they want to meet me...
The President of the family council invited me to attend their meeting tonight. I'm a little intimidated...
I have a brief speech rehersed... See what you guys think?

Thank you for inviting me to the Family Council Meeting.
I plan to make the Resident Council Meeting a positive experience so we can all work together to make this facility the Best it can be for all of us!
(Oh and Giuseppe needs a raise) He made me add that!
    LOL

Mr. President...You`ll do just fine !!!!! Just be yourself....and deep breaths help those jitters.... Yeah I`m sure Billy Boy DOES need a raise....but will he get one....doubt it....

Your speech sounds great! I'm sure you'll do fine. I always get nervous when I have to speak in front of a group. I've tried taking the advice of imagining everyone in their underwear, (who the heck made that up anyway?) but that can get pretty scary sometimes, LOL, so I don't do that anymore!

Good luck, Joey. Just remember that the people you are giving the speech to are human too and don't let them intimidate you; they would probably be nervous too if they were the ones giving the speech. Talk to just one or 2 of them, don't just see a mass of faces, see them as 1 or 2 people and talk to them and it isn't scarey anymore. I have spoken in front of 3 or 4 thousand people at one time; if you speak what is in your heart and to just a few individuals, it is real easy. (Hmmmm, is it in your heart to give Billy Boy a raise?)

    You will do fine.

    just go in there
flash that wonderful smile and let the words just flow
I second the idea about the raise for our good buddy and pal!
seriously, the fact that you have the best intentions in doing this resident council thingy is what's important
and thats what people see and relate to
ur words are genuine, so no nervousness necessary!!

Joseph, you will do fine- your prepared remarks are good. Remember, the people you will be speaking to think well of you, and will not be there to judge you. Remember to breathe, and just take your time to speak your piece.

    Good luck!

Joey! You're gonna do great! Just pretend you're speaking to all of us (just keep the dirty remarks to a minimum ).

Okay he's been in there for over an hour and a half!
Should I worry or should I buy him a case of chapstick?
Chapstick.. you know... for all the hmmm hmm kissing he might be having to do? LOL:kiss
Okay seriously, I know he's gonna do Great! But... wow it was like a marathon getting him ready!
First he got up early, (mama judy is having some serious personal problems and he wanted to spend time with her) then he wanted to stay with me cause I somehow developed this swollen area just below my elbow? So he was worried that I had a broken bone or something? (I'm fine) Then my relief on the hall from hell didn't show so I did my usual Thursday pm hall then went to help the admin nurse who was doing the hall from hell... so it ran us a little late... He had to be dressed just so.... Charcoal colored silk shirt, dark jeans, hair all swirled, cologned up... Anyway, we just finished when the President of the Family Council came down the hall and said, "I'm here for my date!" (She's a Definite sweetheart!)
He was all smiles! He had his opening line in his pocket ready to go! He told me that he thought he'd probably just say a quick hi and then get out! Well, now it's been an hour and 45 minutes...
If I know him he's a definite HIT!
He really just wants to do something to help out the other people... He is a very caring and loving person!
    Can you tell I'm proud!
(oh yeah and I need a raise! LOL)

Sounds like you work in a wonderful place, Giuseppe; but maybe the Hall from Hell should be divided in half??????

And do you deserve that raise??
