My Drug Problem

  1. I had a drug problem when I was young.

    I was drug to church on Sunday morning;
    I was drug to church for weddings and funerals.
    I was drug to family reunions no matter the weather.
    I was drug to the bus stop to go to school every weekday.
    I was drug by my ears when disrespectful to adults and teachers.
    I was also drug to the woodshed when I disobeyed my parents.

    Those drugs are still in my veins today; they affect my behavior in
    everything I do, say, and think. They are stronger than cocaine, crack,or heroin, and if today's children had this kind of drug problem, America would certainly be a better place.

    OT:
    Is drug, really the past tense of drag in the US?

    It is pretty much a slang past tense of drag.....but everyone uses it....you know how we are with our slang.

    I know the thing about being drug everywhere when I was a kid....got drug shopping and absolutely hated it. Whats wrong with the old clothes that I wore to school last year??????

    I really enjoyed that little poem. It made me laugh........

    Whisper, I think it is more of a regional thing, but I could be wrong. I have heard southerners use it more than anyone else, and then only when emphasizing their own country accent. We DO know that dragged is the past tense of drag.

    And I have never heard of it used that way at all where I was raised and live! Must be a regional thing!

    Drug.....I love it...... it's kinda like sling, slang, slung. Purely facetious use but I love it.
