My boys are wound for sound!!

  1. My boys are wound for sound today! Not sure what the culprit is, but man are they being a handful. I am getting ready to send them outside to play to run off some of the excess energy they have now. It is necessary for my peace and sanity!

How old are they? Mine will be 8 next month, and we definately have days like that! Sometimes I just send him away with his dad and tell them not to come back until they're sweaty and exhausted!

I'm actually going through the bad stretch right now. I'm off the weekend, but I work the Fri & Mon around it, and then we're all home the weekend. That's 4 days I go without any peace and quiet!

I'm looking forward to Tuesday, and hoping you get a little peace soon too!

My boys are 13, 12, and 11. They are pretty good guys, but every once in awhile something gets into them and all hell breaks loose. You know, the giggles that never stop, who can toot and burp the loudest and longest. I really don't know where they get all that energy sometimes. I wish I could harness it for me when I am in the 11th hour of a hellish 12 hour shift. Heather, you are in Toledo, correct? I live near Ft. Wayne, IN. I could bring the boys over to play with your son if he is getting bored.

Yes, I know I am blessed. I know in a few years the house will be quiet. Just sometimes the loudness gets to be too much and I need just a few minutes of quiet.

I'm with you, deespoohbear, I try not to stifle the critters too much, but to find outlets for that energy (mine are boys, 11 and 13). YES, PEACE AND QUIET and TIME TO MYSELF!!!! -- D

    Bring 'em on over deespoohbear!

Actually, two of the neighbor boys came over and the three of them all played soccer and ran around the backyard for a few hours! My little monster is snoring away on the couch.....

    :roll

I know he's a great kid, just needs to cut loose and be a heathen sometimes. That's OK, I do that sometimes too

I feel for you. My "boys" are 23, 25, 27, 30, & 32. I remember what it was like to have them all home and all wound up. Sometimes I went to work to get some peace and quiet.

Heather-I have been to Toledo twice. US 33 scares the daylights out of me! The 18 wheelers go flying way too fast for me. Too many people killed on that highway between Ft. Wayne and Toledo. Someday if we go to the Toledo Zoo, we will look you up. I have been to Put-In-Bay twice. Spent the night outside of Toledo, can't remember the name of the town. Went past a Mosque though. I am not that familar with Toledo though. I had a couple of friends that went to school at MCO.

My boys did eventually settle down. They were almost perfect :angel2: :angel2: :angel2: during the evening. May have been plotting something. .

Everyone is asleep right now, so I am getting my peace and quiet. Yeah!! Savoring every minute.

Hey! I love it when people I've never met talk about my home town! I passed that Mosque everyday on the way to nursing school! I haven't been to our zoo in ages!

If you're ever out this way, let me know!

BTW - love your sig line! :chuckle

What is the name of the town outside of Toledo, the one that is kind of ritzy? Something "burg", but I can't remember. My hubby and I stayed over night there a couple of years of ago. Then we drove on into Toledo to do some sightseeing. Can't remember anything in particular. We did drive past the zoo. I went through Toledo last fall on my way to Novi, MI to go shopping. Does Toledo really have a baseball team called the Mudhens? I remember Klinger on MASH talking about the Mudhens.

    Saturday night
    in Toledo Ohio
is like being nowhere at all
All thru the day how the hours rush by
    You sit in the park
and you watch the grass die

    Ah, but after the sunset
    the dusk and the twilight
when shadows of night start to fall
They roll back the sidewalks precisely at ten
and people who live there are not seen again
Just two lonely truckers from Great Falls Montana
and a salesman from places unknown
Are there all together in downtown Toledo
To spend their big night all alone

You ask how I know of Toledo Ohio
Well I spent a week there one day
They've got entertainment to dazzle your eyes
Go visit the bakery and watch the buns rise

Ah, but let's not forget that the folks of Toledo
unselfishly gave us the scale . . .

can't remember the rest of John Denver's little ditty-song. No offense intended to anyone remotely connected with Toledo or Ohio or even the human race, for that matter (contact my attorney for the rest of the disclaimer). Cheers!!!

(I do remember Klinger talking about the Mudhens!!)

Yup. Toledo is the home of the Mudhens! Just built them a brand spanking new stadium too! I'm not a baseball fan though. I prefer our hockey team

Perrysburg is probably the town you're thinking of.
