My baby won't make it...

  1. At least that is what this psychic woman told me at this new age expo. Said without a doubt it wasn't "charted" for me to have another child, that I had three already (two of one, one of the other, which happened to be correct). I feel foolish for listening to a "psychic", but what if she is right?
Anyway, naturally I'm pretty upset. She even went as far to tell me if I didn't TERMINATE this pregnancy myself something else would happen to prevent this child from being born. If my life was in danger I wouldn't terminate this pregnancy, I can't even bear to consider that.
I want to say she is full of it, but what if she isn't?
I'm 17 to 18 weeks along right now, I know that after 20 weeks it is considered stillbirth instead of miscarriage.
What is the earliest age of viability you have seen?
I'm supposed to see the doctor tomorrow and I'm going to tell him I'm afraid something is wrong (won't tell him about the psychic, I feel fool enough already). But this certainly has me plenty upset.

Think carefully about the motives of someone who would advise you to terminate a pregnancy.

Wishing you & your baby peace ... derived from within, not an external source.

I'd definately have doubts about listening to someone who told you to terminate the pregnancy! You don't know anything about her except that she picked up on you having other kids. Don't let it get to you, tell your doc you've had a few bad dreams (by tomorrow I'm sure that will be true enough) and ask for whatever tests you think will put your mind at ease.

Be sure to come back and tell us when the baby checks out to be perfectly fine, k?:icon_hug:

this is where your 'psychic' needs to be for all the bad karma she's brewing

Think about the consequences of what this person told you. Even if you have a full term, perfectly healthy baby, in the back of your mind you will always be waiting for a tragedy to happen to your child.
Do whatever it takes to put the "prediction" out of your memory because, true or not, it cannot do you any good. I'm sure you aren't considering it but I have to say it: Don't terminate your pregnancy.

    Pray for peace of mind.

If you listen to quacks and naysayers, then the end of the world is near and everyone is going to Hell. Shame on that woman for even thinking something bad might happen to you or an innocent child. Most people who have a whit of real psychic to them wouldn't tell you something so negative. They would omit it completely, and do their personal best to give you a positive view of the future.

You seem like an intelligent woman, Put that nonsense from your mind and focus on what is best for you and your baby.

I, too, went to a psychic at our State Fair. I would be meeting my soul mate within the year and we'd live happily ever after with absolutely no financial or family worries.

NOT! Now about 10 yrs. later.....what a bunch of hooey!

Enjoy your pregnancy and take good care of yourself.

Pregnancy makes women vulnerable. The combination of hormones, natural concern over the baby's health, fear of the unknown, etc. combine to cause normally logical and reasonable scientifically-minded people (like yourself) to seek information from any and all sources.

This psychic is preying on your natural fears and playing with your mind in a way that would not normally be possible. Please do not allow her to do so any more. Go to your next appointment, and open your mind to your doctor's input. Discuss your concerns, and listen to his/her reassurances, knowing that they are based on sound science and medical practice, not hocus pocus.

Treat yourself to a massage, facial, or something that will help you relax and focus on yourself and your baby.

    Be well.

You know, I think there are legitimate psychics out there. I really do. But honestly, those who are genuine have the sensitivity to not go around telling total strangers that they need to terminate their pregnancies.

I think you should report her to the Attorney General for fraud.

What's that? You can't? Because there's no guarantee on her predictions? No proof that she's been "right" before?

Could that be why she works at the State Fair and not at the White House?
    Ya think?

I agree with Jolie. The psychic or whatever she claimed to be is full of it. I can't believe she would suggest terminating the pregnancy based on her "chart"--that is just plain evil. I think you should tell your doctor what she said and how it made you feel. The doctor can then reassure you with evidence. It's hard enough being pregnant--really--you don't need this kind of stress.

Oh Sweetie, that is utter nonsense! You know I do believe some people have a psychic sense/ability but frankly most that work at these so called psychic conventions and fairs are a joke.

Do not give it another thought, she deserves a thunk on the head for even verbalizing such crap, what a whacko.

Your baby will be just fine & happy as long as you make sure Momma is too. I agree treat yourself to a massage, pedicure & fun mommy stuff- this is such an exciting time in your life you should be enjoying every second of it!

Enjoy your pregnancy and just stay away from psycho oops-psychic fairs and such..

motorcycle mama, I tried to PM you with very important message, but your box is full. This psychic is very evil and I want to assure you that "real" psychics do not operate in the manner she has.
A real psychic if she has fears for you or the baby would at most caution you to watch your health and safety carefully over the next months. She would not say to you what she did. A real psychic would also tell you that their readings are not set in stone, but just a caution, so you can change direction at any time. A real psychic would never tell you to kill your baby. I am completely upset that someone did this to you. God bless and keep you.
I have more info for you so PM me if you can.
