Movie Recommendation!

  1. Bend It Like Beckham. Great feel good movie. Great music. Trailer below. Go see it! It's an indie movie so smaller cities might not have it yet. But I've a feeling word of mouth will get it wider release, kind of like "My Big Fat Greek Wedding"

Thanks for the recommendation! Hubby is a big martial arts fan - has anyone seen "Bulletproof Monk" yet?

I read a review of that a few days ago and it sounded intriguing. Will keep it in mind. I see "Holes" opened recently. Anybody see it yet? The kids read and enjoyed the book and I did too so I am hoping they did a decent job of converting it to the big screen.

Hey aimee, I read the book too. Try to keep things in commom with the kids. I am planning to see it too.

I have recently seen Basic and Phonebooth. Both were pretty good.

I have not been keeping up with reviews at all. What are those two movies about?

Basic is about a former army special unit guy (John Travolta) who investigates the death of the man who trained him and of other soldiers who appeared to kill each other. Full of plot twists and turns.

Phone booth is about a talent manager who is a big phony. A stranger calls him on the phone booth and traps him in the phone booth by keeping him under the scope of a rifle. This movie is more about self exploration, hypocrisy and how a sniper believes that his actions are moral and are done to offer his victim salvation. This movie is only 1 hour 20 minutes long, versus the normal 2 hour movie.

Both movies are decent. Not spectacular, but pretty good. I am still not sure if I figured out what really went on in the movie Basic. Prepare to put your thinking cap to figure out which scenario is the truth.
