Movie - "My Big Fat Greek Wedding"

  1. Greetings y'all,

If you folks out there haven't seen "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" - you OWE it to yourself to go see it. It is the funniest movie I have seen in a long time, and it is also very sweet. And guys, it's not just a chick flick- you'll enjoy it too.

And you don't have to be of Greek heritage to appreciate it.

What's it about? Who is in it?

The only recognizable stars are John Corbett (formerly of Northern Exposure) and Lanie Kazan.

Basically a 30-something lady whose Greek parents see her as being "past her prime" meets and falls in love with (gasp!) a man not of Greek heritage. The young woman (Tulia) has to deal with her autocratic father who wants her to marry a Greek and have Greek babies. Her honey and his prim and proper family have to deal with joining Tulia's very large and very extroverted Greek family.

One of the best lines from the movie - (paraphrased) - the man is the head of the family, but the woman is the neck-- she can move the head wherever she wants it to go!
