Monster

  1. I'm probably a little behind, because I didn't even know this movie existed until a week ago.

Anyway, my boyfriend and I watched it a couple nights ago, and it was heartwrenching. I had nightmares for 2 nights, and I'm still having panic attacks (it touched on a few issues for me, like my mother...). Has anyone seen this? What did you think of it?

One of the guys at work was talking about it yesterday at lunch -- had never heard of it either -- must admit, I do not think it will go onto my "Gotta see" list. He was saying that it was rather disturbing -- when it makes this guy uneasy, tearful, squeamish --(which it did) , I knwo it will be way outta my league

I thought it was one of the best films I've seen in a long time, and Theron's performance was amazing. However, keep in mind that the story is somewhat fictionalized/dramatized and does not always accurately reflect the true story.

My wife and I watched it then we had to get the documentary as well. Actually there are 2 the first 1992 at the time of the occurrance what is wierd is that her stupid attorney and the woman that adopted her actual expedited her execution I believe. anyway the movie was ok but the documentary was pretty wild and then the 2002 version shows how her attorney really was breaking the law and was disbarred

Really, you are behind the times. The actress won this year's Oscar. LOL

I've been a little hesitant about renting it, as it's such a disturbing topic.

Oh, 3rd, if you're a serious film buff (as I am) you've gotta see it. The performances will blow you away.

The performances were truly, truly amazing and Charlize Theron deserved her acadamy but I agree with everyone for a acadamy award winning film this one is a real "guiet achiever".

I was amazed by it. Wondeful performances by Theron and Ricci. The story was heart wrenching but intoxicating. I am glad I watched it.

I just watched this movie a few nights ago and all I can say is...Wow! It is pretty disturbing, very bizarre, but I am glad I saw it. I actually have been wanting to see it and it does get to you! Charlize Theron was ultra transformed...she totally deserves winning the Academy award.

That's interesting, I am curious to see more on this subject now. I liked this movie, but I want more info on the "rest of the story"!

I read a brief biography of her...very sad. Apparently, although she did recieve six death sentences, she still had appeals and decided to have the process expedited. She basically volunteered for execution. Looking at her life, it's no wonder. I wish someone could have helped her before it was too late.

Glad this comment was made, I saw this last week, without any prior education as to what the movie was about, just knew that Theron had been recognized for her performance (as it should be) She is fantastic as is he co-star.

But..... I sat thru the whole movie, sad for the reality that injured children can, and many times do become injured adults, and unfortunately there are no bandages large enough to aid in the healing. Therefore, this is the result.

At times we need to be reminded that the person expressing the behavior is still a person. I know this was a movie based on a true story, and I ponder how many of us know people like this, well without all the dramatization? (hopefully)

OH........ I have been told I think too much, so about the movie, it's disturbing
in my opinion, but if you watch it just for the entertainment and talent, it will hold you in your seat.
