  1. Good Morning Dear Friends,

Love and prayers for peace and comfort continue for AKY at this time.

Enjoyed a relaxing weekend which culminated in us going to see Gravity which was an awesome film, so tense at times I was holding my breath but a good one none the less. Was nice to treat ourselves and we do not do it near as much as we should.

Relaxed most of the weekend and just pottered around yesterday, did a little work for our Team Meeting tomorrow and will finish those off tonight.

Will be hustling today as I have 6-7 visits plus continue with D's training so it will be busy but a good one I am sure.

Had a nice hike yesterday morning with the boys and of course hubby, dogs were crazy and ran like wild things but sure did wear their own tails out. LOL They were very sleepy for the rest of the day.

Gosh my cup of tea is delish!!

    Ok I gotta get moving.

Have a most excellent day no matter what you get up to.

    Much love to you all.

    Morning Sabby

    Thinking about AKY too

Nothing much happened yesterday, saw my dad, did some cooking in the morning, honestly don't remember what I did for the rest of the day, some errands and that was about it. Rested a bunch.

I think I'm going to choose simpler recipes in the future, all the chopping and such that I had to do for yesterday's cooking was just too much, and too tiring. If I didn't have such a demanding job, I'd have time for such stuff.

Funny, I had a 3 day weekend, but it doesn't seem like enough time. I think part of the problem is I do too much when I'm off. And the other problem is I wear myself out during the week. Probably be better to do less, both during the week and when I'm off.

Nothing unusual this week, seeing a friend next weekend. For those who are interested "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" will be shown this Halloween. I've long thought it was the best of the Peanuts holiday specials. Have it on tape but still like to watch it when it comes on.

    Good morning.
Yesterday I made a pot of veg. soup in hopes I could eat. Not yet. I tried yogurt for bkft this am so we will see how that goes.
Went to funeral home yesterday. Not sure all his wishes will be followed. I do not feel I should have much input on that. Stopped by my DS and checked in on DGD who has a pretty bad concussion. She is not to read, watch TV, listen to much music. Of course any activity is out. This is another energizer bunny who normally does not sleep much and is always doing flips and cartwheels. Her volleyball season is shot and she is captain as well as their best server. It is really sad to see her doing nothing except trying to sneak text.

Today I get to meet with SO's DD to go over the books, the best I know. He was still doing some of the bill paying and I am not sure what needs to be done.

I think that is part of my sick stomach. I feel like I would rather sleep all day than go talk to anyone.

    Delayed stress.

I know it will pass. I do think I may cancel doing the books today. I really cannot think well yet.

I am right where I am supposed to be and know this gray veil will lift and I will be back soon.

    Good Morning -

Was up last night editing the video of the wedding taken Saturday. Visually, it looks good. Unfortunately, one of the lavalier microphones was distorting. Even more unfortunate is that that one lavalier microphone was being worn by the Bishop who performed the wedding ceremony. UGH! He was wearing TWO lavalier microphones during the service. One was for the church's own sound system and the other was for the benefit of the video. From the way the distortion sounded, I believe that the lavalier microphone (for the video) was hitting the side of his throat at times. UGH! The distortion wasn't horrific, but it is noticeable. I believe that I "EQed" out the distortion as best as possible.

Tonight marks the first of three-in-a-row nights. Hopefully the nights will be the "Goldie Locks" kind in terms of business: not too slow and not too hectic. Amy is working three-in-a-row days. So, we won't be seeing each other until Thursday. Believe it or not, life is good when our work schedules work out this way. We hope to have a fun week-end together.

Yesterday went well. It was good being with the church choir again. Because of my extended vacation, I was away for a total of 4 Sundays. I've been directing this choir for 29 years now. Sadly, our church is one of the few in the area that still has an on-going choir. We still seem to enjoy working together. The anthem went well. After church, Amy and I went for a nice fall hike. We just walked around our own road. Don't need to travel far. The scenery here is gorgeous as the tree still have most of their fall-colored leaves.

aknottedyarn - Do what you need to do to take care of yourself. That may mean spending some "alone time". That may also mean being with the people you love and trust for support. That may mean paying bills. That may also mean postponing the bill-paying until a bit later. Whatever you decide to do, please know that you do remain in our thoughts and prayers. I do think that you know this. Peace to you AKY. ((((Hugs))))

Peace to all who travel here. . . .

I was going to suggest maybe you could postpone that (((AKY))) xo

Ohhhhh, AKY.... Big hugs to you! I cannot imagine the pain you are feeling right now. You have been and will continue to be in my thoughts during this difficult time.

It it was a busy weekend. Our firehouse had their annual Open House, which I was on the planning committee for. We had a decent turn out despite the weather.

Today i I am studying for a test I have tonight. I hate slaving over books... never have liked it. I'm much more a hands-on learner.

    Wishing everyone a productive day!!

Good morning! I woke up to temps in the high 30s today. I'm not ready!!! I did pull out my fleece jacket, but I am still stubbornly wearing sandals. No socks until November 1-my feet need to be free! I had a great time last night at the football game with my sister. My team pulled it together at the very end to win. Then I got to go home and watch the Red Sox do the same. W00t!!!

Today is a regular work day for me. It's fairly busy, as school is off and a lot of parents are trying to fit in appts. today. My DS will head back to college today. It was fun to have him home for the weekend, despite the increased grocery bill and laundry!!

Continued thoughts going out to AKY. Take it slow today. Be gentle with yourself and don't impose any time limits for how you should feel or what you should do. ((((AKY))))

Today is errand day (a day off from work!).

    Friday nite's music went so-so.
I hope angels translated what we did into something nice.

Saturday's music went well, then in the afternoon we had a family get-together, with nieces and nephews from Chicago in town, with their kids in tow, other niece and nephew-in-law and their kids, other nieces and nephews (in their 20's), BIL, MIL, etc.
good food, nice to touch base.

Yesterday dh and I walked around Disneyland.
Stayed later than we usually do (we usually leave when it gets dark, as we go for the live bands and they are all done by 6pm).
didn't ride anything, just walked (which is good!) and listened to bands:
    20's music
    another jazz band
Billy Hill and the Hillbillies' Halloween show
    Ellis Island Boys

Had lunch at Rainforest Caf, hadn't eaten there in awhile.
Had a good tomato basil soup!

And, here we are to today, and the aforementioned errand day.

Will try to post some pics; for some reason puter is not letting me get to the proper window.

Ellis Island Boys, playing 20's music (jazz, blues). Very upbeat. They are all very talented!
John, the guitarist on the right (playing a tricone), has had many discussions with dh about banjos.
Katie plays great bass and sings.
Ralph plays the washboard (mainly percussion) and does a GREAT job of it!
Sitting in is a man named John, on the left, with a tenor guitar.
