  1. Good Morning on a very chilly morning,

Lovely weekend with relaxation and fun yesterday. Got to get out hiking the dogs while it was still frosty on the ground but we all had fun and did a hard slog up the side of a mountain and then come back down through valleys, walking over bridges etc, dogs had so much fun we wore them out and they spent the rest of the day snoozing. LOL

Had a yummy bowl of soup last night and I think I need to brew up some more in the crockpot for me to eat for lunch on those days I come home. Nothing warms you up better than that.

I am so looking forward in seeing my patients today, going to take my time and enjoy each home. I do love orienting new staff but I sure relish those times I am on my own and can give my patients more of my time and attention.

One patient is heading back from the beach today so only 5 visits for me but will do that patient tomorrow before IDG. So 5 patients to visit again tomorrow.

Brrrr it is so cold outside and now they are tossing around the snow word for tomorrow but I will believe it if and when I see it but it sure is cold enough for something. I may have to break down and get the ol' jacket out or at least a lab jacket.

May you all have a most magical Monday no matter what you get up to.

    Much love to you all.

    Morning Sabby

Not much happened yesterday. Got out for a hike, which was nice but my legs were tired from all the biking Saturday so I couldn't go too long. After that I did some shopping and some cooking for the week and I think that was all.

Today it's back to work, hopefully the week will go well like last week did. Going to take part of Friday off as I'm getting some windows installed.

    Good Morning -

Joe - hope works goes well today for you. Sabby_NC - Glad to read you had a relaxing week-end. Soup sounded delicious. Hope your work-day goes well for you, too. (Better than last week, for sure!)

Just rolled out of bed. Gotta work tonight. Just plan on relaxing today and catching more "ZZZZZZs" before I leave for work.

Yesterday was cold and rainy which made for a nice day to relax with the wife and watch stupid movies while eating popcorn. The church choir sounded nice and practice went well. Next year will be my 30th year of being their choir director. There are times when I might think about retiring. I've talked to the choir about this and they are supportive no matter the decision I make. But they seem to still want to work with me which I find interesting because I feel so predictable sometimes (with how I rehearse the choir and with the type of anthems I pick out). Our church Pastor will be retiring at the end of next year after about 28 years of service. He's going to remain on a part-time basis until our church hires a new Pastor. Maybe during that time would be a good time for me to retire?? On the other hand, it could add extra stress to a church that's already stressed with looking for a new Pastor. I don't know. No decisions need to be made today regarding this. (The problem is that I've been saying that for several years, now! LOL!)

Hope all is well . . . and Peace to all who travel here.

    Good morning.

Our census is full for our little small-town hospice (12 patients). One nurse usually sees patients on Monday for scheduled visits and then the other nurse on Thursday (for our two-visit a week patients). But . . . . we've had to have help these last few weeks. So the boss takes turns taking 1/2 or a very part-time nurse helps doing the same. So, I need to get up and out of here as my day will be long (some patients live quite a ways down the road).

    Spidey has the day off.

    Thank You Veterans.

Many of my fellow nurses cannot contact their family members in the Philippines. Typhoon Haiyan has resulted in thousands of deaths.
Two are lifelong friends from my first job as a young LVN. I've met their families at weddings and funerals.

It is a horrid tragedy. I'll be supportingh them by making phone calls as well as donating.
I'm glad our marines who were stationed in Japan are there already.
