  1. g'day and to monday!

it's 3:45pm here in oz, so my monday is in it's latter stages. it's been a busy day so far, and a very warm day. hope your monday kicks off a great week for you!
haven't read yesterday's (sunday's) thread yet, so am not up to date with the news, views, etc. hope all's well in your world.

we went for an early morning beach walk yesterday. took the two dogs and enjoyed a most pleasant hour's walk along the beach. the tide was out and we were able to see all kinds of interesting things lying on the,- (covered by water when tide is in),- seabed. the ocean certainly holds some amazing secrets!
we greeted and chatted with fellow beach walkers and their 4 legged furry 'kids'
there were more dogs on the beach yesterday than at an annual dog show! you've got to marvel at the number of different breeds, personalities, colours and shapes. wonderful! and..... there wasn't one single altercation! each and every dog greeted and played with the others with enthusiasim and playful frivolity. it was joy to see.
after the walk was over, we went to dd's house for breakfast. a lovely way to start a sunday!
hope everyone enjoy's this day and i wish you a happy and healthy monday!
    cheers..................

    Y'ello Mate

I'm off to bed - sounds GREAT where you are! We are supposed to be in for some nasty weather the next couple of days. Today we had a lot of freezing rain...

However, Maine usually has a LOT more snow than we have had - we have mostly bare ground around here. Maybe winter is just LATE and we'll have snow thru MAY or something! Yikes!

have a great "rest of the day"

Thanks Grace for starting the thread. I wish I could wake up everyday and take a walk on the beach. That's my dream life. I decided after I'm done with school that I'm going to ring in the new year in Sydney! It looks so beautiful on tv. Gotta start saving now!

I was going to study but thought I'd stop here first. Hope everyone has a great day!

Hi to all! I'm not in bed yet, but am working on it!

The kids and I are off for MLK Day. I'll rest tonight and do errands tomorrow.

My strongest memory of MLK Day is standing on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial two years ago, on the very spot where he stood when he gave his famous "I Have A Dream" speech. Gave me goosebumps just to be there. I've always been glad/grateful I got the chance to go w/my son's 8th grade class trip, it was AMAZING and AWESOME to see the sights of our nation's capital (plus Gettysburg, Williamsburg, Annapolis . .. ).

    Have a good day! --- D

Di, I memorized (and still know it) the speech. I have a framed black and white photo taken behind MLK back looking out over the pool. I would have loved to have been there. IMO, just because I'm not black doesn't mean I don't want to snuff out prejudice.

I would love to go to DC but I'd have to go alone. I would be bawling at every memorial. I get very emotional over war memorials. Just thinking about the Vietnam Memorial and how lucky my uncle was to survive gets me emotional. He had a gun pulled to his head, enemy was going to kidnap him but he got away. Government still sent my grandparents an "I regret to inform you" telegram. Imagine their surprise when he walks through the door!

Ok, I said I was going to study but I haven't done that yet.

Di, when you went to Annapolis did you see them building any aircraft carriers across the river?

    Good morning!

Due to the icy roads and wintry weather around here, many of the family members decided to stay at home instead of visit their loved ones as usual at the facility. Some of my coworkers were so afraid of the black ice on the roads that they decided to spend the night at work, sleeping in unoccupied patient rooms. Nobody really wants to be on the road, and I don't blame anyone for this reasonable fear.

    You have ice in Dallas?

I better call my friend and her husband in Ft Hood. She is cold blooded and she's probably under a pile of blankets. I just want to tease her because it's probably warmer here than in Texas.

good mornin' ya'll, i'm off to bed...usually get home from my pm shift about 2345 (11:45 pm), and eat my supper or dinner, or have a drink or both while i get sleepy and read my email and this thread...then, i like to get on again when i get up and have my coffee...much later . well, it's nearly 0100 (1:00 am), and time for me to get myself to bed...gotta work tomorry, but it is double-time-and-a-half, 'cuz it's a holiday, and i don't get to take it as a holiday or vacation time later...so i don't mind working all of those monday holidays ...now that i don't have children that are off from school and need my assistance or supervision . ttyl

    GOOD MORNING, LITTLE PEEPS!!

Hello to all!! Busy thread all ready!

I'm at work & kind of busy. Just waiting for an admission to come up; Called for bed about 45 min ago---suppose they'll wait till 0600??? I all ready received our faxed report, so it really shouldn't be that long!! Oh well. we'll see. Keep calm, Mary; Don't get stressed!! This should be my new mantra!!LOL!! Plus, I have a pt. talking to himself all nite--even his haldol(which I hate by the way) didn't help him get to sleep & his constant c hatter is putting me on edge.
Oh Well!! Not much I can do about it.

After work, it's off to the vet to get Barney's stitches out. He's been SUCH a good boy with his incision! First dog of mine that has behaved after surgery!! (What's wrong with him?)

After that, I guess I'll wait for a call from Angie (akcarmean).
She's bringing the kids up to Chicago to the Dentist, after we may meet for lunch. This all hinges on the weather, tho. We're supposed to get rain/snow here, but Southern part of the state is supposed to get freezing rain/sleet.
Hope she will be REALLY careful!! I CAN"T WAIT TO ACTUALLY MEET A FELLOW ALLNURSE!!

That's about all that's new here.
    Need to run now.
    See you all later
