Mistakes in Movies

  1. I'm sitting here watching 'Point of No Return' starring Bridget Fonda and there are two mistakes that are so obvious, I wonder how they got missed. The first is when Bob tells Maggie that everyone thinks she was buried in "plot 48 row 12". He then asks her to cooperate and she says, what if I don't? He answers, "row 48 plot 12". Got that line backwards didn't he?
The second mistake is when her boyfriend asks "Uncle" Bob how old he is. Bob says 37, so he's 13 years older than Maggie. Her boyfriend then says, no you're 14 years older, she's got a birthday coming up. HELLOOOO! If SHE'S got a birthday coming up the age difference between them decreases, not increases. Too funny. Luckily I love the heck out of this movie, so the mistakes are forgiven.
Are there any obvious or not so obvious mistakes that any of you have noticed in movies?

(I'm not a big fan but)Happened to be watching Ace Ventura (the second one, where he's in Africa or somewhere else . . .), and in one of the later scenes, when the plot is building (I think <g>), the bad guy is in a large room that is full of African art/artifacts. He's sitting in front of a small table on which is a chess set. Camera pans to him (I notice the chess set) then to Ace Ventura, who has just been brought in (captured!). Then when the camera pans back to the bad guy, the chess set is GONE!! Only the small empty table remains (and no mention of its passing)! That's the most obvious one I've seen.

If you go to the Internet Movie Database, you can type in a movie you've seen in the search box and when it comes up, you can click on 'goofs' or 'trivia' and read all about these! I love looking for stuff like this! Just type in a movie, and read all about it. It's fun, and it gives you something to look for the next time you watch the movie. www.imdb.com is the address. ;>)

My father, "Hawkeye", is really good when it comes to watching old westerns and seeing airplanes flying in the background.

He actually is pretty good all around at picking up goofs in movies and TV shows.

I only ever spotted one...in "Witness". The police chief in Philly was talking on the phone to a local cop supposedly from Lancaster County...except the dumb local cop mispronounces "Lancaster", just like a tourist.

I caught one in the movie Anaconda (I believe that was the name?). Jon Voight was in it. They were cruising down a river passing a waterfall, but the water was going up instead of falling down! It was so obvious. They had passed the fall earlier in the movie and it was "falling" right, but on the way back out of the cove, they just ran the film backward instead of refilming the shot.

In the movie The Ghost and Mr Chicken, the scene where Don Knotts falls down a chute of some sort at the old Simmons house, shows a much younger man with very straight hair laying on the floor below, then he suddenly turns into Don Knotts character!

I know that in the Wizard of Oz, there is a scene
where you can see a man who killed himself during the filming. You see him swinging from a rope in the background. Right where Dorothy, and two of the three are just about to go down the yellow brick road. They start singing "We're off to see....that's where you see the guy in the distance.
