minor vent about mall santa

  1. dear mall santa,

just because a 3 year old tells you that he wants a $900 "gogart" (gocart) does NOT mean that you must answer "SURE santa will bring you one of those all wrapped up with a nice shiney ribbon"

rofl what a moron.....but then he does not have to deal with the kid when he/she does NOT get what they wanted...the parents do.

it's sad actually. now i have to explain that the gogart was too big to fit in santa's sleigh because i don't have the $$$ to get him one. thankfully, he's 3 and will accept this explanation.

It is sad Rena. maybe you could ask that Santa for his name and adress and tell him you are looking forward to seeing him Xmas morning.

Back in the still believe time, my sweet son used to pat me on the hand and say "it's OK Mum, Santa can get that for me" whenever I tried to let him know I was broke and couldn't get him everything he wanted. So hard to find a reply to that one.

My sitter's mom is dying of cancer (stage IV breast, metasasis to bones and all over), and her daughter told Santa that all she wanted was for Grandma to get better. You know what the *^%*$ said? "Oh surely there is something else you want like a Barbie doll or something?"

Who the hell trains these fools? Saddam Hussein?

    GRRR!!!!

Wow I am glad Santa never said that to my kids! Talk about being put on the hot seat!

You could always get a remote controlled one.

Personally, I wouldn't want to be a mall Santa. I mean, what are you supposed to say without pissing off the parents?

"Sure kid, your grandma will get better." or...
distract them with a toy that the parents feel they can't give anyway?

Or a kid asks for a puppy. Should Santa say NO?

    It's a tough job.

We purchased one several years ago at 900.00 when our kids were 9, 10, and 16. My husband was always repairing it and even now it needs repaired. They are pretty safe especially with helmets.

Maybe he (Santa) thought she was referring to a remote control gocart. It would not be easy being a Santa, that's for sure.

Maybe it's one of those "Is that a candy cane in your pocket, or are ya just happy to see me?" things.
