1. Has anyone taken Meridia for weightloss? Just wondering how much weight loss to expect and if any problems with side effects.

It's a very good drug for weightloss. I write it quite a little bit.

HOWEVER, if you have a history of HTN or cardiac problems, you will need to really talk this over with your NP/MD. Depending on your condition, intense monitoring will be required, or in some cases you will not be able to take the drug at all.

Also, talk with your NP/MD if you're taking a medication for depression.

    Best wishes!

I don't have any medical problems other than hypothyroid. She rechecked my thyroid levels before she gave me the rx. She is only going to let me have it for 3 months. I'm 5'8, ususal weight is130-135 and over the past year went up to 155. I have taken it for 3 days now. Seems to work pretty good. I think the fact that I had to pay 100 for the rx helps motivate me. I don't want to waste my money!

    Smack your doctor for me.

Unless her Meridia rep is slacking, there is a good coupon book for the drug. It covers six months and reduces the price by a certain percent each month. I think the first month is capped at $40.

Also, there's no reason to limit Meridia for 3months. It can be safely used for quite a long time.
