I think Rusty might have a few things to say on this topic!

But why start a thread to bash the guys? The opposite sex giving you a hard time lately?

Quite honestly, there has been more than one occation, that I wished I could think as clearly as alot of men I know. I personally have a very emotional side that clouds my thoughts. My hubby can keep me grounded. Not a good idea, I'm sure to compare him/her stuff seriously, but can be quite amusing and funny when in jest. I kinda like the way my mans mind, wonders:chuckle

Then again I have been accused of being too logical for my own good.......over and over again.:imbar People tell me that when they are really drunk.

Mindless, yes, mostly. However they are easier to get along with, don't talk behind your back and tend to be very matter of fact. So I guess I'll still love them. ; )

As a man, I'll tell you what *I* think. I think male bashing is a sexist, shallow, insulting, and damaging thing to do. It takes absolutely NO talent, intelligence, or creativity. If you want to label an entire gender as all being the same, be my guest - but it says a lot more about YOU than it does about US.

If you don't like the fact that men and women are different, take it up with the Creator, not the creation. And if you want someone to point out all women's shortcomings and faults, and lump you all together as being the same...you'll have to look elsewhere, I refuse to do it.

I don't return male-bashing with female-bashing. Sounds like you'll just drag me down to your level and beat me with experience. If you're frustrated with the actions of *a* man, that's understandable, but to generalize *all* men? Please. And if you start out this topic with such an insult, how do you EXPECT people to respond?

My thanks to the ladies who have refused to participate in such behavior. I don't know why some people refuse to accept the fact that on MANY levels, men and women need each other. We all do.

O.k, rant over. One of the reasons why I don't female-bash is that I LOVE you ladies! Hugs and smooches to all the ladies who love men!

I'm not sure if I'd call men mindless for we certainly DO have a mind.
It's just that we may focus on different things. I'll give you an example.
My wife and I went to a party the other day.
When we pulled up to the house in the country I noticed that Dan and Deb were there and said "Look, Dan and Deb are here."
She says "How do you know?"
    "Dans truck is there, look"
"I never pay attention to that stuff", she says.
After the party we were driving home, my wife says.
"Did you notice that blouse Deb was wearing? She must like that blouse because she wore it to our party last summer."
    "How can you remember that?"

See? Not mindless, just different focus.

A good book on the differences between men and women's thought processes can be found here .

I don't like to think of men as mindless - I figure they have two brains . (As opposed to women who have two personalities depending on where in the hormonal cycle we are lol.)

Well said, Rusty. Instead of saying, "Men are mindless", why don't you just say, "Men aren't like me" - to which everyone would reply, "Well, DUH!" They're not SUPPOSED to be. Are you saying that everyone is supposed to be like you?

I hope you're able to get to the point where you're able to APPRECIATE the differences and how well men and women complement each other, instead of thinking men are supposed to be like women and only seeing the differences (and using yourself as the measuring stick).

Hmmmm wonder if this were titled:

    "Women are mindless"....

Would that go over like a fart in church or what?

I agree w/Rusty. Men have differing priorities that don't always align with ours. Does not make ANYONE mindless. I have met many a mindless woman in my day, actually.

Thank you all for everyone's response. I saw the topic "Men are mindless" somewhere else and thought, hmm, what would you guys(everyone, not just guys) think. I was just curious to ya'll reactions/comments on the subject that "men are mindless" it is does not reflect my personal thoughts and feelings. And yes I would like have seen what would the responses would be if the thread was "women are mindless" or course it is not really gender specific limiting, imo.

    Thanks again for your responses,
    Brandi
