Massages.... Darn, how I love em

  1. hi guys

I went for a massage the other day....
it was divine.... it was so good.... it was great!

heres the issue... I was wondering, what do you guys pay for one? (I;m talking about a full massage, not just head and neck)

um, it was $75 plus tip, but well worth it...

I want another one for my birthday.... gotta start saving now...
(actually, I want a day of beauty from a local spa.... same place I got the massage)

    ok, lemmie know

here in Houston I can get a full massage...50 bucks for 90 minutes or 65 bucks for a 2 hour massage. Plus when you are done they have a hot cup of tea waiting for you. Not at a massage school either. A Beauty place in china town here. They also do aroma therapy and body waxes and such for the women....being a guy and all do not care for body waxing on me at least...LOL

Yeti - here's what I do when I can't afford the full price massage - find the nearest massage therapy school and call asking for an appointment with one of the students who has completed the course and is doing their required hours of supervised massage for certification. You get a good massage at a real discount (I've paid $20 for an hour massage)

wow....20 bucks... the school for the spa I go to is in brooklyn...

ok, heres another question... I want to take my mom for her b-day... thingie is, whereas I have little to no modesty, she is quite modest, (Aka.... being sans bra is kinda hard for her to do...)
is it possible to recieve a massage while wearing a bra? I do know that you always stay covered up, but, I dunno... would it really get in the way for the back portion of the massage? (I think it would, but I dunno...)

Massages...yum! Barbara, I have started dropping some not-so-subtle hints to my boyfriend about possible birthday's coming up soon. I love massages and have been dying to have a whole day of pampering at a day spa but the one I was eyeing (the works!) is about $470!!! But hey, we're worth it right?

A one hour massage at a day spa around here is around $75. Well worth it for me, but I'll have to start investigating the massage school option.

The therapists have always told me to undress down to as much as I'm comfortable...I strip down. The first time I was a little hesitant, but you know, after about 5 minutes you could give a hoot if you're naked! I too keep trying to convince my mom, but she says she's too self-conscious. I think she'd forget about all that after the first few minutes!

I have only had one massage, and I loved it.
I know its not the same, but here at work this week we got 2 new massage chairs for our laboring moms...had never tried one before, they are awesome, and should be for $3500!

Yeti - suggestion for your mom - one massage therapist I know gives modest women a tube top to put on - eliminates the shoulder straps and hooks and they don't worry about being exposed - maybe you could get her one.

Cant add really addd a price here - as the difference in currency is too hard to figure
However l go to a massuer for deep remideial therapy - I walk in with a crook back and walk out (after suffering some discomfort- read pain) straight and far more comfortable - l love him - he always respects my modesty

Gee... a massage would be lovely. Never had one professionally, my hubby gives me one now/then...but, not very long. My poor shoulders just ache, especially with all this rain.

Never had one-I am really not uptight or a prude but I am just not comfortable with that....I would love a foot massage though.....I have heard of booths where you lie down in this coffin like box and jets of water pummel you through some kind of material so of course you don't get wet-they say that is as good as a massage...I am going to try it...
