lovely bones

  1. Has anyone read this book? I saw it at costco today and read the cover. It sounds chilling. I dont want to read it if it is scarey. Any suggestions?

I read it a few months ago. It is not really scary. It is different. It is told from the perspective of a 14 year old girl in heaven. I thought it was ok, but everyone else I know that read it thought that it was an awesome book.

I haven't read it yet. She has written another book also, about her own sexual assault I believe. I recently ordered them both, and I can't wait to read them both!

Glad it's good! I gave it to a friend for Christmas (in the hopes I'd get to borrow it ) I'll have to read that next.

I talked about this book late last year around the last book club thing!! :-) I loved this book. It is not chilling. I thought it was a most interesting way to look at death and the afterlife... not what you expect. I recommend it. (grammar police!)

I am reading it right now, I am about halfway through, and I love it. It is very touching. I couldn't think about picking it up and reading such sad subject matter, but it isn't written like that at all, you just fall in love w the characters.

(Now where is Stargazer as we discuss a book?? Off on a jaunt!)

I'm struggling through it. I'm about halfway done, but I just can't seem to get into it. I think I'm going to save it for my trip.

I read it a few months ago! It was a really good book. Gave it to my mom though, and she didn't care for it too much.

i read it last year, and loved it. this girls view of heaven was certainly different. my favorite line from the book, "the air above the hospitals and nursing homes was always thick with souls." chilling, but can't you just visualize it? i've passed it to all my reading friends.

I read both Lucky and the Lovely Bones and really, really enjoyed both of them. I came away from reading the Bones with such a comforting view of heaven. I passed them on to my friends and the majority enjoyed them. Alice Sebold is a gifted writer.
