I don't know for sure, but I thought that chinese characters didn't stand for letters, but words. Maybe there's a chinese character for "nurse"?

I did a google search with words "chinese character nurse translate" and came up with the following two sites that might help:

(BTW, found out hu shi = nurse)

    www.cantonesse.sheik.co.uk

    http://ktmatu.com/chinese/practical-...bulary.gb.html

The second site requires a download of translation software; you'll probably get the characters you need from that one.

    Good luck! -- D

Well I'm a big chicken so we will see if I give in and do it... I might forget the cadeceus and just do the letters.. I'm sure that will be enough pain.. LOL

Here is the Kanji word for nurse (Japanese)

I would run those by someone who can translate before getting inked...you don't want to find out later that it actually means something else!
